Facebook is About to Change Again... Are You Ready?

Howdy Warriors,

Facebook has very recently announced that it's planning to upgrade the News Feed to a much cleaner, far more visual look...

Here's a quick look with a few questions that might interest you if you have an online business:

So, what do you think? Will it affect your online business and how you promote it?

It might not effect those small business owners that are doing free promotion on Facebook

I am always excited about changes with Facebook. I have over 100 clients throughout the US and Canada with a few in the UK and each time there is a change, not only is it more user friendly but it reaffirms the confidence my clients have in their decision to outsource their Social Media. The overall reason businesses do not outsource is due to a lack of knowledge and appreciation of the marketing power of Facebook which results in their resistance to professional help. They either try to do it themselves or they seek amateurs (who basically only know slightly more than they do) who charge a small amount to basically do nothing more than post. Each time Facebook updates their newsfeed or page style or adds a new feature, the need for experienced professionals becomes more apparent.

It looks clean and fine right now but that also looks nice! I don't think it'll affect small business owners. Even if it does, we'll find a way around it

I think initially it's going to have a great impact on my advertising efforts.

After a while it could either be amazing or suck. We won't know until they perfect it.

Also just to comment on this statement.

Anything and everything will impact a business, small or large.

Even something as simple as a color, hover effect, name, etc.

A complete redesign to one of the most used websites in existence will have an impact on everything associated with it. It doesn't have to be a huge impact, but there will be one.

Consider usability. If it's easy to find small businesses using the new layout, that will help them. If it's hard to find small businesses, well there ya go.

      Great feedback everyone.

It seems that the consensus so far is that it won't change much...

That said, Justin made a very good point which years of testing on my part can certainly back up:

Just same as Google. We have to keep up ourselves with changes.

We can keep up with the changes or keep off it.

I like it... even though It's just helping with pushing our society away from reading.. LOL..

Looks clean though. Of course, there are gonna be those that say they hate it and curse Mark Z calling him everything but a genius...

If you hate it that much, go create your own facebook.
