How Much Does a Site With 10m PageViews/Month Worth?

Saw this site in a general news niche claiming to have 10 million page views per month. Just wondering how much is a site like that worth?
#10m #pageviews or month #site #worth

Depends on the niche... What niche is it in?

A rule of thumb for Flippa is 10x its monthly income, but there are other factors to consider as well such as domain value, its traffic, if the site has any USPs etc. There is no exact guide to follow. Its worth what anyone's willing to pay for it is the old adage..

Well usually you sell a site for 10 times the money you earn per month... The point here is to understand where these views come from.. It's quite easy to buy cheap useless views to pimp a site stats...

Difficult to say anything without seeing the site. It depends on a couple of things. Is it global or country-specific, where does its traffic come from, for how long has it been attracting this amount of traffic, how is it monetized and what earnings did it bring up to now, what's its maintenance costs, etc.

Having said that, 1) I wouldn't sell if I had such a website. 2) If I was buying such a website, I would buy it face to face by making sure of all traffic/income etc. claims are real with my own eyes.

Thanks for the advice. The Alexa ranking definitely indicates it is pretty high traffic ...

First, look on Alexa and see if their traffic rank coincides with what the site is saying - I know Alexa isn't accurate, but a site that gets 10 million a month should rank pretty well in Alexa regardless.

Ask to see their analytics - namely you want to see referrer traffic and number of unique visitors. If they won't share this, it's a good indication they're hiding something - that would be like someone trying to sell their business without sharing their financials.

If the analytics show they're getting a lot of non-referrer traffic, I'd be suspicious - the only way thats legit is if the majority of visitors are typing their domain into the browser or returning from a bookmark.

Also... since you haven't said what the site is, do you mind mentioning the asking price? A site that's GENUINELY getting that many unique visitors would make $80k - $100k a month ust in ad clicks if it was running AdSense, and that's a conservative estimate.

Really? If a site is making that much, it could be worth in the region of $1m - $3m?
