Where Did All My Sales Go? (ie The Story Of My Life)

For the past couple of months I have been doing extremely well (by my standards) on ClickBank, pulling a consistent $500 USD a week (which is around $1000 where I live, not bad for a 17 year old) My promotion has been using EzineArticles, wordpress.com blogs, squidoo lenses, and hosting articles on Scribd.

However, all of a sudden this week (on Thursday to be precise) my Clickbank sales have plummeted to around 1 sale a day, instead of my usual 4 or 5 every single day, often more.

I have had this happen before, and this time there has been a smallish decrease in the number of hops I have been receiving, but I am not sure if this is to do with what appears to be a broken analytics service on ClickBank, or my EzineArticles links not being clicked as much.

It seems as if overnight, either my ClickBank account has broken, or my EzineArticles have fallen out of favor with Google- I am not sure which. What makes me suspicious of the latter is that the change was overnight- and I have been adding new articles at a very steady rate (1-2 a day)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Regards,

Sam

First of all NEVER say, "not bad for a 17 year old". Sorry, but I hate when people do that.

Who cares if your 17? Just because your 17 doesn't mean you can't make the same kind of money the "adults" are making..

Don't cut yourself short because your only 17..

Now about your sales.. I have no explanation

Your Clickbank account isn't the only one that's broken because mine has been exactly the same since Thursday. My hops aren't being tracked (my site views are the same as normal) and my sales are after decreasing exponentially in my main account. I've spent my weekend researching new non-Clickbank products to promote. I won't be leaving CB but they're too unreliable for my liking at the moment.

I am with you guys here.
Regardless of what the Clickbank trolls say, there is definately

        "Something rotten in Denmark"

Facts, stats and logic say it is so.
Luckily it isn't the only stream we use.

          Same here for me.

I have over 50 articles getting a ton of traffic from ezinearticles with hundreds of clicks to my landing pages but yet still I am seeing no hops.

Usually I would have made 6-8 sales but so far only 1.

I really don't know what is going on.

All my sites are dead slow the last few days. I think it is the weather to be honest.

It's just one of those natural fluctuations that come and go.

Learn from this. You just need to diversify everything you use to make money. Have multiple affiliate accounts, multiple merchant accounts, use multiple ad networks, etc., etc.

Diversify to make yourself "recession proof" and "fool proof."

You should be creating a competing product for those ClickBank products that are doing well for you and then you wouldn't have these problems...

    That's what I've done...

Brilliant in it's simplicity. ( The idea, not the doing)

      Thanks heaps Mike

could be spring break is cutting into sales maybe? Last week was Easter so that could cause a slow down as well. Ive been experiencing strange things at CB lately too.

Check your ezine article stats to see if your page views and signature clicks are like before. If they are, you can isolate the problem and focus your efforts on CB.

2 days back, I changed my clickbank id after reading a thread by Jeremy Kelsall and immediately noticed a difference in my CB stats.

This is a rough week for traffic for me too. I think its because its spring vacation for schools and colleges and lots of folks take it off so they are not at the computer?

I'm glad I'm not the only one.. I've posted a few threads over the past few days regarding this.. my cb stats do not even remotely match my analytics. I even had 'affiliate=none' problems.

yes, that's what I've decided to do. I have toyed with the idea for ages, but now that a 'bad day' costs me several hundred dollars it's become a much higher priority for me.
