When can I start selling solos

As for list building, the money is really in the list..

When you're selling solo ads instead of promoting offers to your lists, often the minimum clicks are 100 for solo ad packages, my question is that, how many subscribers should I expect to get at least 100 clicks per email?

I know it varies on a lot of factors that the conversion rate could be high or low, but in average, what is the average conversion rate? and so to get 100 clicks, how many subscribers do I at least need?

thanks

People's open-rates alone can easily vary twenty-fold, or even more. And that's just one of countless different factors. For this reason (and many others) it's unanswerable.

This is simply not a "range" for which a numerical "average" has any meaning or significance at all, Ellie.

The only constant factor is that the more solo ads you send, the lower the click-through rate will be.

I agree . Alexa makes a lot of sense here. My sense here is that you'd be better off really concentrating on building a good size list of 1000 or more before thinking about selling solos.
Unless you just want to have a solo selling business and that's all.

You can sell solo-ad when you are able to predict your click-rate and your conversation rate for your ads. If you can't then it will be difficult for you to keep your end of the commitment.

Only when you can guarantee to deliver a set number of clicks.

As has been mentioned above, you first need to establish a predictable click rate for your list, then you will be able to judge just how responsive (or not) your list is.

Why not build the list and a relationship with that list and use it to market to yourself? If done right you'll make a lot more money than selling solo ads to it.

      This is good advice!

Although selling solos is a good way to bring in some quick cash.
I would suggest building up your list to a min of 1000 subscribers before selling any solos.

      Hope this helps

It is a way to bring in quick cash but it also devalues your list just as quickly. Your list is going to end up on a heap of other lists and so you will have to fight stronger and stronger to get your own message heard.

Agreed 100%. All everyone seems to be thinking about these days is the money. Relationships can be far more profitable, and once you begin to consider the needs of your customer before your desire for money. Well the money rolls in and people can't wait to buy from you as they know your offers are designed to help their business and not fatten your pockets. IMO

I don't know why you would sell solo emails, but you can determine this your self with a couple of tests on your list.

Just create your own free offer to your list and send it out as a solo email and us a tracker to count the clicks.

Do this 3 or 4 times and you will see how long it takes for your list to give your the number of clicks you are looking for.

It is as simple as that.

Again you will make much more money from your list if you advertise your own products and affiliate products.

I hope this has been helpful,

Although 100 is very popular ... you can still offer packages of 25, 50, or 75. That is completely up to you.

But if you are looking to get 100 clicks...

I personally wouldn't recommend selling until you have at least 4,000, and that is still pretty low for a number.

I see so many solo sellers having to scrap for clicks because they can barely produce what they promise ... and that is not a situation you want to be in.

    Keep building your list everyday

Why are you wanting to pimp out your list? You shouldn't be doing this let alone when you've not even got many people on it in the first place.

You should know your own conversion, open, click rates. How can we tell YOU what rates YOUR list has / will have.

I predict that if you're already thinking about trying to monetize your list via solos you're not making much money off it and probably have terrible open and click rates. Selling solos isn't going to help, it'll just make things worse.

I personally just see the solo ads as just another way to make money from the list. There are some marketers that I know who sell very limited solo ads. If they are going to send to their list of subscribers a good free resources which is useful, I don't see any problem in getting paid to give away free resources which is useful to the subscribers. Just my 2 cents.

Build your relationship with the people, make they receive a decent number of useful information in the follow-up e-mails you send and if you decide to sell solo-ads ( though marketing your own product would drive better results for sure) make sure you investment those money back in the list. Only in this way you can start doing something serious.
