Blog on a squeeze page strategy?

I have developed my own product (ebook). I plan to sell this through a squeeze page, which has a blog for seo purposes.

Is this the right way to do it or will it be better if the main domain is the blog itself and the squeeze page is like www.xyz.com/xxxxx

And for affiliate products, is the strategy for just having a squeeze page and then directing them to the afiiliate sales page, and the promoting other studd through mails good? or does that need a blog too? if yes, then squeeze page on blog or blog on squeeze pgae?

Thanks

Try to sell it on a "sales page" - because squeeze pages are used to get (a.k.a. squeeze out) the email address of the visitors

thanks, but what's the harm in doing both by seducing the visitor using intelligent headlines and benefits, but asking them for their details in exchange for the link to the your download page/affiliate sales page ?

Well, you didn't say "both" in your OP.
Furthermore, selling your own ebook (which you said you've developed) and selling affiliate products on a free offer's download page... are completely different business models and require different strategies.

I have the impression you have to clarify for yourself the exact steps in your sales funnel.

You either sell it or you offer it as an 'ethical bribe' in exchange for their email.

Yes, you can sell it AND get them on your list, as well, but that happens, usually, in reverse order: sales page > buy button > payment processor > download page... Now the 'email squeezeing' could happen
        a) in the background, automatically when they pay
        b) with a form on the download page, offering updates and upgrades

If you start the sequence with a squeeze page, then you need 2 products because they go through this funnel:
        - squeeze page, offering some mind boggling free gift if they subscribe
        - thankyou-page telling them to check their Inbox
        - (after clicking the confirmation link) the download page... OR (here comes the second product!)
        - an OTO page offering your product that you want to sell (and a link to the download page if they refuse to buy)

These are just 2 possible scenarios and unless you plan them carefully, you will just create a mess that even you don't understand...

Use a sales page for the sales copy and market it on a blog, best option. The blog will bring in a ton of traffic overtime with the right keywords and a lot of quality content.

I don't know of any way you can sell from a squeeze page. but there are a few ways to build a list from a sales letter.

    1. PopUps - I don't use these as a rule because they can cause to many problems like not displaying properly because you have no control over the viewer's browser and monitor resolution settings.

    2. Peel Ads - I have had good luck with this but I have had to incorporate some of what I call VooDoo list building tactics that keep the visitor on the sales letter.

    3. VooDoo Forms - This allows me to add what you would normally see on a squeeze page as part of the sales letter. I have an example you can see at...

    Business Blogger's Manual

You will be able to find it about 1/4 to a 1/3 way down the sales letter. The goal is to have the visitor subscribe to your list without leaving the sales letter.

The form is actually appearing in an iframe. So when the visitor adds their name and email address, The form is replaced with a message that says this...

Your Business Blogging Secrets Has Been Sent To Your Email Inbox!

Your download link is now being sent to your email inbox and should arrive in 5 or 10 minutes.

While you are waiting, continue what you were doing.

...Now, I've got the visitor onto my list and they have never left the sales letter. I've also given them something very related to the product being promoted on the sales letter and their guard has just been lowered a little becaus it is a part of the sales process and not something popping up in distraction.

If you want you can subscribe to see how it works and then unsubscribe from the list when you get your first email message.

The process works very smooth and actually increased sales.

Let me know if you have any questions on how this works and I will try to share.

    Best regards,
    Steve Yakim

You can set up a standard blog with opt in forms visible and use the WP plugin 'Lead Rocket' to set up a nifty squeeze page. You could also set up a straight up sales page for affiliates to send traffic to as they'll not be willing to send traffic to your squeeze page or blog for the most part.

The squeeze page is there to capture leads. Blogs are there to drive traffic to your offer/squeeze page. Your sales page is where you would sell the offer. So drive traffic to through your blog. Capture your lead through your Squeeze page. And Sell your offer through your Sales page/funnel.
