Is there any easy way (like WP plugin) to make a c2c marketplace?

I have an idea for a consumer to consumer marketplace, but haven't found any convenient way to implement this without a large investment. Is there something I am overlooking? Or is it just hard to create something like this?
Any help to send me in the right direction would be appreciated! Thanks.
