A true Warrior has passed away.......

It is with tears pouring down my face and the deepest of sadness that I share the news of the passing of a dear friend, Cathy Shelver.

Cathy has been battling cancer for many years and passed away today.

The world has lost a true gem.

Please keep Cathy, her husband, her two young children and her entire family in your thoughts and prayers.

I did not know Cathy but please accept my condolences and pass them on to her family. It is particularly hard to hear about a death when two young children lost their mother.

Oh no ... I'm terribly, terribly sorry to hear it.

I hadn't heard from her for about three/four weeks, I think, and wondered, and feared the worst, after some of her recent comments. (Cathy and I have been exchanging fairly detailed, personal messages here since 2010). Her bravery and dignity, in the face of her unspeakable illness, were truly remarkable.

I find it quite impossible to know what to say, on such occasions. Except that I'm terribly, terribly sorry.

So sorry to hear that. I have witnessed so many cancer horror stories this past year.

Just 3 weeks ago some guy I knew died unexpectedly. I say 'unexpectedly' because the week before that (4 weeks ago) he had no knowledge of it. Alive one week, dead the next.

May Cathy Shelver rest in peace.

I haven't talked to Cathy for two or three months and I didn't realize she had become so ill. She will be missed. Cathy was one of the most positive people I've met online, even in the face of what she's been going through. You're right - she was a true Warrior.
