A true Warrior has passed away.......

by 89 comments
It is with tears pouring down my face and the deepest of sadness that I share the news of the passing of a dear friend, Cathy Shelver.

Cathy has been battling cancer for many years and passed away today.

The world has lost a true gem.

Please keep Cathy, her husband, her two young children and her entire family in your thoughts and prayers.

I did not know Cathy but please accept my condolences and pass them on to her family. It is particularly hard to hear about a death when two young children lost their mother.

Oh no ... I'm terribly, terribly sorry to hear it.

I hadn't heard from her for about three/four weeks, I think, and wondered, and feared the worst, after some of her recent comments. (Cathy and I have been exchanging fairly detailed, personal messages here since 2010). Her bravery and dignity, in the face of her unspeakable illness, were truly remarkable.

I find it quite impossible to know what to say, on such occasions. Except that I'm terribly, terribly sorry.

So sorry to hear that. I have witnessed so many cancer horror stories this past year.

Just 3 weeks ago some guy I knew died unexpectedly. I say 'unexpectedly' because the week before that (4 weeks ago) he had no knowledge of it. Alive one week, dead the next.

May Cathy Shelver rest in peace.

I haven't talked to Cathy for two or three months and I didn't realize she had become so ill. She will be missed. Cathy was one of the most positive people I've met online, even in the face of what she's been going through. You're right - she was a true Warrior.

Please pass on our prayers and condolences to the Shelver family and friends.

Each time a Warrior passes away it gets a little harder, because so many Warriors supported my family when we lost our little Olivia 4 years ago. Consequently many of these Warriors have become like a 2nd family to us and their passing brings true grief into our hearts.

    Rest in peace Cathy.

    So very sad...

I remember her: quite a while ago I had the pleasure to reply to some of her posts/questions here and she came across as a very nice person. Sincere condolences to the family!

Cathy was a wonderful upbeat person, full of thought for others.

I'm deeply saddened to hear this, I spoke to her many times via PM and I admired her enormously.

Rest in peace Cathy, you deserve it and my deepest sympathies to Cathys family. Many thanks for letting us know Jacqueline.

About one year ago, she had said that she was doing better. I had thought that the prognosis was still good.

So, it comes as a surprise to hear of her passing today.

She will be missed, and please do pass condolences to her family.

p.s. I found her twitter picture...

Wow, she was young... Wasn't familiar with her, but I'm so sorry to hear of her passing especially with two young children.

I'll remind myself to keep her family in my prayers.

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Cathy Shelver.

Though she hadn't posted in a long time, I do remember
her as being a thoughtful and sincere member - and very
      optimistic too.

My thoughts and condolences are with her husband,
children and the rest of her family and friends.

      Rest in Peace Cathy

What sad news, thanks for letting us know.

I'd say at least a year or so ago, Cathy wrote to ask me a question about a product I was offering. Her illness came up in the back and forth conversation and I remember thinking, "what a shame such a nice kind person has to fight such a tough battle".

    May God rest her soul.
