What is the best for Wordpress comments?

Ok, so I have a question for those running wordpress sites (especially authority sites with lots of interaction).

What do you use for Wordpress comments?

1. Regular Wordpress
2. Regular Wordpress with social login (Twitter/Facebook connect)
3. Facbook comments
4. Third party system (Disqus, Livefyre, etc...)
5. Other plugin or something else

I am interested in any thoughts/discussion on merits of these different approaches (from an SEO standpoint, to increase interaction, etc...).

Any thoughts (or methods I missed)?

Thanks.

I have an authority site though, oddly enough, it does not attract a lot of comments. Having said that, I do moderate them very carefully and do not allow short comments, comments that contain a link or comments that do not add to the discussion. To answer your question, I am using the standard WP comment facility.

I personally don't use all of that social stuff for commenting. I'm not big on social media as a user, so if I want to leave a comment, I just want to be able to leave a regular ol' comment. With that said, I've seen blogs that provide both options: being able to leave a regular comment and the kind via social media sites.

I think for initial basis your blog would be new, you should don't allow comments. Just fill in quality contents, let traffic flow and then start comment section for discussions.

    Regular comments work the best.

People don't really want to comment with facebook comments.

With third party systems you might attract a lot of spammers. People use tool that find websites that use those commenting tools and then use scrapebox or something to spam you.

Good old regular wordpress commenting system is the best one for the job. All the big guys are using it and they are doing great with it.

I am using Facebook comments. Because it help me two way by stopping spam comments and sharing the comment in Facebook.
