If you've seen this already, I apologize, but for those that haven't, there's a way you can manage multiple Wordpress sites without paying a big monthly fee for the privilege.
I stumbled across this tool while looking at a paid option that got expensive real quick. It is called InfiniteWp. True, this does take a bit of setup, but the instructions are extremely clear and detailed.
Basically, you install an instance of this on your server, set up a Cron job (geek speak for scheduling tasks at the server level), and from there just add sites as you need to.
