How would you Promote a Dating Product? (Online Dating Guide)

Hi guys... I have recently finished writing a book (The Art of Online Dating) and I was wondering if any of you have any tips for how I might promote this kind of product? Thanks!

This is a great niche to be in (a lot of comp though) but dont let that discourage you ... So you have a book are you trying to sell it or give it away for free hopefully leading to a sign up for a dating site which you make commission? Do you have a website? Do you know anything about building a list?

Otherwise as far as marketing goes you could,
    1 - Solo ads
    2 - PPC
3 - Get involved in dating forums
4 - Answer questions (type in "online dating help") and see how you can help

There is just a few things you can think about.

First you need to set up a salespage. If this is done, you start sending traffic to it. Its that simple.
Remember that: Traffic + Converting offer = money

Thanks guys! I'm trying to sell it and I have setup a page already, becomingpua.com/taood

I am finding the Google PPC ads pretty expensive, because I am not charging much for the book ($19) maybe there are better PPC offers?

I am not actually sure what solo ads are...

    3. On it

    4. This is clever! I never would have thought of that

Your ebook is a lead product at $19. Are you promoting anything else? If not, you should be. You should set up a landing page, collect e-mail addresses, build up a list, and make sure you have no less than 10 other products that you can recommend and make affiliate commisions on. There are a TON of quality products and services out there that you can promote.

As far as promoting it, there are numerous ways to do this. From a top level you can:

      * Buy advertising (there's more beyond the PPC world)
      * Write and promote your articles
      * Find a newsworthy angle and write some press releases (over time)
      * Free publicity
      * Set up a professionally laid out webinar with killer content, approach other sellers in your niche and offer them 100% of the profits generated from that call. Guess what? The people who buy are now on your buyer's list and you can promote OTHER products / offers to them.

You can do this with Powerpoint or free software like Open Office. It doesn't have to be fancy, it just needs to be killer content.

Whatever you do, do not approach potential partners until you KNOW what your conversions are. If your sales copy does not convert well, people are not going to continue promoting your product.

Just make sure you don't start off with just one product. Secondly, make sure you are building your own list of prospects AND buyers.

        Hello,
I just came across this thread and these these are excellent tips! I also am on the same boat.
I also have created a front-sell dating product, an upsell, and I offer coaching. have a sales page, an affiliate program (almost done), and also am creating killer content as well.
I offer a free course as well

I'm just really struggling with driving traffic and because my budget is quite tight, but I don't mind doing a small campaign just to test conversions on the Sales Page itself. Like you said an affiliate will not promote your product unless the probability is high to convert.

For PPC...what are some targeting sites to really test it?
I tried Reddit - but they wouldn't allow it
I tried PlentyOfFish - but my sales page does have a bit of explicit content.

What would be another suggestion for where to advertise to the correct target audience?

        Thanks and Regards,

        Manny

Google PPC can be expensive, try Bing, or 7search if you want a lower CPC.

TIP: Go to bing webmaster tools and get your page added to claim a $50 free advertising credit and then go to fiverr and find a $200 ad voucher for $25 - $25 investment for $250 in advertising to get you going. (You can buy google vouchers here too, but remember you can only use one voucher per account)

Solo ads is an email blast - so you would be looking for someone who has a list in the online dating niche that they would send your email out to. Say you spend $50 for 100 clicks to your site or something to that nature. - WF special offers has some great people who might have a good list for you to mail to.

Find a way to tie in affiliate commissions for sign ups to dating sites. Maybe find one like naughty.com or eharmony b/c Im assuming when they buy your book for $20 they then want to go try it out on a girl online so they are gonna sign up somewhere ... if they liked your book they will most likely take your recommendation on the dating site too, and some of them can pay up $100 per lead. Go check out OfferVault.com and type in dating as your keyword you'll find plenty of offers or simply go to eHarmony Affiliate Program - Marketing Relationships to sign up for there's.

Use the book as an intro to a larger, more expensive program. If you don't have one, choose one of the leaders off of Clickbank. I would also recommend that you list the book on Amazon and use CreateSpace to get it into print. With regard to promoting it, there are a number of pickup forums out there, as well as your typical social networks.

You may want to promote it through Facebook. Create an "I love Women" general fan page to get a lot of likes, advertise through the Facebook PPC network, then do a few paid promotions of your book to your landing page.... Just a thought.

If you are going to pay for advertsing then do so at plenty of fish which specialises in dating PPC adverts.

first thing would be to get a sales video or sales page made up then put it on clickbank and other marketplaces

once you have done this build a squeeze page and start building a list and sell your dating product as your front end offer

as you grow you can add some upsells and back end products to make your business much more profitable

hammer free traffic sources initially while at the same time try some paid traffic methods

you could even contact current dating product owners and pay them for a solo ad to their list

buying a solo ad to their email list is the quickest way to build your list and make sales from your product
