To Sell My Website Or To Keep It?

Hello All,

Back in december 2012, I launched a technology blog and hired someone to write articles for it, since then, its been getting around 100-200 visits per day consistently mostly from google. I haven't put adverts on the site, apart from "advertise here" blocks on the side of the site.

The url is:
cyberflake .com

I am wondering If I should keep on at it and display adsense ads there, or just to sell it, as I'm in need of cash. I'm not sure how much I would get for it, I was thinking maybe $100, what do you think?

Put some adsense on there and see how it does.

You might make more than you think(who knows..)

Once you know how much it makes per month, you
can figure out how much it's worth. Usually sites
sell for around 10 months revenue.

The site's not bad but also not great, very simple layout etc. nothing eye catching.
As far as what you will get? depends what some one is willing to pay, but i
would not expect to get anywhere near $100...

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Put adsense on it and also offer to host banners for others.
I would hang onto the site and continue to make it better.

My suggestion is to work on building more traffic, getting subscribers and joint ventures.
If there is value in the site and you still believe in the concept its worth persisting.

Keep the site and integrate adsense or some other revenue producing site. Long term you will make more money via adsense over the term of the year. Once that is done you can sell for $100 or more. Long term you have a greater value and since you have not income to speak of you will only be selling the site and not the potential and proven income.
Of course you will need to add content to stay fresh.

Regardless of what the site looks like, if it has a proven track record of earnings, you will likely get a much better price for it.

Well it really depends on your current portfolio. If this is your most profitable site then probably I would say don't sell it. But if you have other sites that earn almost the same or ever more, then I would just advise you to sell this and focus your work on other, more profitable venture.

If you have a technology based site, I would also suggest using Adsense since technology based Adsense ads generally pay a little higher for clicks. Be more aggressive with promoting your advertisement blocks, you could easily get a flat rate of $25 or more for a 30 day period.

My suggestion is this... Never sell the good stuff when your getting broke.

I mean you got the stats, right? Put analytics code first, build more traffic and monetize it with adsense, make it work make it make money. I don't then you're that broke (I mean $100???) You can get a job right? Well, unless you really think it's not worth pushing through then so be it.

As previous comments, my suggestion is also not to sell the website.

You should go with adsense and BuySellAds.com as I see a lot of new websites there that are fully booked (in the niche i was looking at).

Get some income for 6 months and then sell it because tech blogs are a million and you have very little chance of making it...

Also, your website is probably getting a lot of search engine traffic so try to build an e-mail list and a facebook/twitter audience. This stuff will increase the amount you make with your website.

Digital Point forum is the best place to sell your domain, go to the market place and upload your domain. and apart from that also post the same what you did at here to other forums.

Hope you will get a good price. Best of luck!

If you have time to invest in it, keep it, otherwise sell it. If you're tight on money there's other ways for quock cash, like Fiverr.
