Best ways to design you emails to actually getting read

So you took the plunge and signed up for an auto responder. You probably spent countless hours trying to figure out what to say in each email, slowly tweaking and adding to it. Finally, you think you got it down pretty good. But, as time goes by, you find that the response is getting less and less of your anticipated results. So, why is that?

Could it be that more and more people now are reading their emails on their smartphones and your emails are not designed for that? Personally, I have yet to set up my own campaign and in doing my research, I've come across this article that talks about the readability and how to go about it. Here's the link;

    You are right in that emails are being read on different devices so you have to take these things into consideration. But maybe your emails aren't getting read because you aren't sending relevant emails according to what your subscribers opted in for. Or you aren't offering anything of value to them.

    Consider the types of devices, but first of all consider what you are sending. Maybe it wouldn't get read on any device!

      I have heard that there are certain times that you are supposed to send out emails. I usually did not think there was a time and sent accordingly to the time I felt was right.
