Love when the product reviews go like that. I've often thought that companies who have a product where that might work, that it is worth it for them to be the first authors of such reviews.... Talk about traffic drivers! I'm very curious to know the revenue generated from the products that get this sort of thing going on...

That's a good point. Nothing like the viral effect to boost sales. Considering those reviews are very much tongue in cheek and both have received 5 stars, I think that's what these could be. I mean, if you were to do this to your own products, you wouldn't give them a low star rating that effects the overall rating would you? And two 5 star funny reviews on the trot makes me think there is something more to this as you say..

Wait, I'm confused why can't women use this product? Would it make women grow more hair? Who is the genius that took away half of their potential market, (probably the bigger half), when marketing this product, HA!

I believe that they're actually increasing their market by targeting men. A lot products such as these are perceived to be for women only (including hand and body lotions), and men who are insecure won't use a "girly" product unless it comes in masculine packaging and/or says "For Men" on the label. That somehow makes it more acceptable to them, even though the actual product is most likely the same (except maybe it has a more masculine fragrance) as the one that's not specifically labeled.

I find more of these Amazon products where the funny reviews schtick has gone viral every day!

    Thanks.

As for the product, reminds me of nair!

As for using snippets of the reviews on your site, pretty sure that its against Amazon's affilaite program TOS, to publish Amazon reviews on your own site to help you get sales. i think they don't like that. Be sure to double check.

LMAOOOOO wow some of those reviews have got to be fake!

This one was pretty funny! But the review above this guy's was fuggin priceless he basically wrote a novel!

Probably the first thing you will notice after using this product is the pain. Although as a man I lack the required experience, I'm going to estimate that using this product is at least eleven times more painful than childbirth.

    Funniest thing ever........

I'm gay and one day, out of curiosity, I went to Google and used: "Chippendale".

Guess what Google answered: Chip & Dale.

Made my day and hopefully yours.

Definitely the funniest reviews I've ever read before.

Although they are both obviously fake.

Using humor in your reviews doesn't just work on amazon, but virtually anywhere. The issue is that they can too easily look contrived, and although people will laugh and share them, it won't do much for sales unless they come off 100 % natural.

Shooting sprouts out of your rear and sticking your knob in icecream is funny, but I have a feeling that review actually hurt sales.

Because when I got to the end of that review, I immediately sensed it wasn't natural and laughing almost came to a hault. My rational mind kicked in immediately and I just started thinking "this is now only kind of funny, and appearing more and more to be bs... why would someone go to such great lengths just to make me buy their cream etc etc".

You definitely don't want customers to think that if they're reading your reviews. So sometimes its better to make them sound more boring, less contrived, and the funny parts will actually come off more funny cause you'll believe them.
