Email Campaign - Some Questions from someone who is relatively new...

Hi,

I have looked in the form for an answer to my question and it seems a bit difficult to find, please let me know if there is an answer to this somewhre or respond to this message, I really appreciate it.

So I have a squeeze page, offer and know how to generate traffic, now how often should I keep in contact with my list and what should each email look like?

What I mean is should I be sending 1 email a week with a offer in it? Or should I be sending 3 emails a week, 2 with some content and the third with an offer?

If you could help me out on this, I would really appreciate it!

I just need somewhere to start and is there any recommendations on a course that a warrior member may sell that has templates for emails? or a similar service?

Thanks
Divian

There really isn't one single best answer to this. The most important item, that I can suggest, is that you build a relationship with your subscribers. You need to be communicating with them in a respectful manner; if you present them too many offers, that respect is quickly lost.

The stronger the relationship, the more effective the promotions will be. This is all with the assumption that all offers are correct for the audience you are building.

So, to me anyway, what you send and how you communicate with your subscribers is the critical element, not the frequency.

    Hope this helps!

Test and see what works best for your list, it's different for everyone. I like to email every 2 days with emails full of value + a subtle offer that compliments what I'm writing about and the odd hard sell / promo thrown in.

As the guys above say, there isn't a universal "right answer", and you need to test (not always easy - especially at the start, when you need to decide what to test!).

Here are a couple of threads which may help a little ...

You can't just make assumptions that your customers don't want to hear from you every day or only once per week. You need to ask them. Survey them in email 1 or 2 and find out. You might be surprised at the results.

Begin with the idea in mind that you will need to get at least about half a dozen or so interactions with the people on your list before you are having a real relationship beginning to form.

So then you want to balance sending these people their first 7 messages in a time and fashion that does not annoy them.

What you talk about to your list in the first three exposures to you whether it is from emails or download pages are also important.

To me it depends on your niche and your relationship with your list. If you've just put up a squeeze page and captured their info from their, they don't know anything about you until you invest a little quality time in building that relationship. People are just like you, I would assume, and are a little reserved before they pull out the credit card and buy.

You have to take on the subscriber's mindset and ask yourself, "What have you done for me lately?" How have you solved a problem of theirs? Not just start broadcasting offer after offer to them. As others have said, it can be a little tricky. In my opinion though, that first interaction is probably the most powerful one. If you sent a sub par offer to them for free, they probably are looking forward to hearing from you.

So make it good the first time and then you may have a better shot of them looking forward to your emails, whether it's one a day or twice a day. If your stuff is good (valuable) it really doesn't matter in their mind. The other thing on emails is that there are tons of marketers competing for a spot into their inbox. Maybe yours get lost in the shuffle and didn't catch their eyes.

That's why it's important to keep an eye on your Aweber stats (or whichever responder you use) and see if they are actually getting opened. That is a part of your business that you definitely need to watch for and tweak your messages if necessary. The bottom line, again as others have said is that you need to TEST, TEST, and TEST again.

    Divian,

It's more abut the value that you give, than giving you a timeframe. If you send rubbish, then once a week is probably too often, but if it's pure gold useful content, then every day might be okay.

In terms of pitching products - if they're useful. If you have useful content, including a useful tool, then nobody will mind probably, but it really depends on what you write. You should test it to see how your content works.

If you think about it - if you got some useful information, and someone also suggested a paid tool, and it wasn't of interest to you, would you be bothered? Probably not, since you got value...
