Any way to make money with sites that have Pinterest in the domain name?

I need some extra cash and I have a few domain names that contain Pinterest in it that I bought when Pinterest was getting big in the internet marketing world. I haven't done anything as far as building sites because I'm worried about legal issues with having Pinterest as part of the domain name. All you seasoned markerters any advice for me? The domain names are names such as Pinterestwebsite.com,pinterestmarketingonline.com, thepinterestsite.com etc... It would be nice if they could be sold for money but I'm highly doubting they're worth anything.

You hit the nail on the head there, chances are if you try to build anything on these domains then pinterest will send you a cease and desist at best. On the other hand these domains could land you in a whole lot of trouble, just let them expire and save yourself the hassle.

Depends on the domain names really. If you want to take those sites further I'd seek legal advice to find out properly.

There's a site out there called paypalsucks.com, that's okay because it's quite obvious that this wouldn't be an official site from paypal. But generally it is a grey area.

Lawsuit waiting to happen if you developed them. If it came to their attention. There are plenty of sites that cater to "certain sites". But you'll notice they only contain a bit of "that site". i.e.

    PinBooster
    TweetDeck

Hope that makes sense... I'm dead tired!

I'm pretty sure you cant monetize off a trademark you don't own.

I think there are some exceptions as long as you're not cybersquatting; like creating news, reviews, and parody. I'm not 100% sure on the exceptions, and don't think it's worth the hassle.

    ex: paypalsucks.com
