There are internet marketers out there who are full of BS and make the Internet biz concept look like a scam, these have existed for a while however the general public is usually not familiar with them. But there are others who spam like crazy and upset users to the point where it seems that the term "internet marketer" is just a synonym for spammer and this group the public is becoming familiar with as they spam networks like Twitter for instance. Is anyone else fed up with this? I know getting traffic in a legit way is hard but honestly, doing it the wrong way is just going to kill that method and make the rest of us look bad. |

You can't control what others do, say or think. There are people the misuse every tactic to some degree. The only thing you can control is how you run your business, do it above board and create better and better products. That is all you can do and while the cheaters and fly by nights fail you on the other hand will have a real business that pays you hopefully a more than decent income month after month, year after year. - Terry |

I agree. But there are always going to be people who take advantage of the system so to speak. Unfortunately, it's just a fact of nature but more importantly, of business. That's why networking and building a quality reputation for yourself is key to anybody's LONG TERM business success. Believe it or not, to a certain degree, it actually works to our advantage to have our customers subjected to bad marketing. It just means that they'll be more prone to recognizing the good products and opportunities when they see them and taking action. I try not to let the mistakes that other people are making negatively affect what I'm doing in my business. If anything, I try to learn from them and not make the same mistakes myself. After all, at the end of the day, that's really all we can do. |

Fortunately the IM niche is quite small, unfortunately just about every niche seems to suffer the same problem. Like little children being naughty, all these scammers believe that they can't be seen so they can't be caught. It doesn't help that these scammers are successful because of the number of people who see their scams for the first time and fall for them. |

You might not like what I say - but I believe it. Build it, make money, then build some more Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies! | |

Yep....look up the term "snake oil" in Wiki. Shysters have been around since the dawn of time and the internet is ripe with them due to the "anonymity" factor. If you are an honest marketer, scam artists will only make you look that much better. I know that in my case, I will buy repeatedly from marketers I know and trust. |

It is worth bearing in mind that a bad name is not necessarily a bad thing to have. In many forums my bluntness and refusal to toe the party line have led me to earn a reputation for negativity (whatever that is) and raining on other people's parades. At the same time, many members of those forums often ask me for information, opinion or advice by email or private message - go figure! |

In all phases of business, you will have the good and the bad eggs. I think these are things we generally have to deal with online.

This happens no matter what industry, business, niche or whatever you are in.. You can not control what others say or do, comes along with the job.... The best you can do is run your business with ethics and honesty.. If you are real with your users/customers then you will reap the rewards. James |

Yep I agree. It really does suck. I told my teacher I was an internet marketer the other day and guess what he called me... "a spammer" What a label right....that sucks! |

there are a lot of people who do that..the essence of being an IM is not making good nowadays...but the best thing we can do is to not be like them... |
