Do you guys notice a decline in performance and delay in schedule of the programmer you are working with again?

Seems to be ONE pattern i notice. On the first project, they work their butt off.. on the second project..they kinda take it easy.. WTF?

definitely, it's not super surprising I guess. They get the first job, they want good feedback etc... So they crush it, on the second time they might tempted to think that the relationship has already been established etc... so they can go a bit easier.

Finding the right guy to outsource to is like finding a needle in a haystack!

But once you find the "needle" don't let go! ha ha.

Its a lengthy process of finding these guys... but you will come across some good ones eventually.

Maybe be more "strict" when saying what you want... And also make it very clear there is continuous work for them if they do a speedy, good job!

I also believe hard work should be rewarded... so a little bonus at the end of things sweetens the deal

    Good luck bud,

    Craig

People's behaviors are the same no matter if they are in Bangladesh or the corporate US environment... It's summed up like this:

"People will work just hard enough to not get fired. Companies will pay just enough that their employees won't quit."

Obviously there are exceptions. But I believe that to be the rule.

I've noticed that too on projects I've posted on Elance. For me, in the long run, it has paid off to hire someone new for every project. I don't know why they would relax their standards and work ethic for repeat buyers, but some do.
