PLEASE HELP ME!!! I need bb code help with sizing!

This is so frustrating.

I am about to release a wso and am trying to make the headline bigger. I've worked out all my other bb code but I can't get the sizing right.

I have

Code:

 [  size=14 ]text[ /size ]

but it just makes the text really, really, really big. Even if I change the size from 14 to 18 to 16 to 12, doesn't matter what size I put it just stays the same really big size. I don't want it quite that big though but I can't seem to get it smaller without getting it all the way back to normal text size.

I know the above code has gaps that shouldn't be there, I just added them or it wouldn't show the code.

Any ideas?

I spent an afternoon trying to figure out the same thing. After Googling bb code size charts and stuff, I came to the conclusion that the size thing varies by where you're using it. I know, doesn't make a lot of sense. Some places said to do pixels, others something else.
What I did here, for my WSO-'cuz I wanted it to 'look purdy', was start with [size=2] for the headline, which made it about 1/2 inch tall. Then, adjust the other sizes like [size=1]-makes half, or 1/4". Then, trying to get back to 'normal' forum size, I finally hit on [size=-1]. If you do [size=1] it comes out teeny tiny.
I vote there needs to be a chart added to the bb code page!

Thanks Kate, I did manage to find it somewhere where it said to use +1 or +2 instead of just a size like 14, so that's what I did [size=+2] and it worked - YAY! Took me a while but I got there in the end
