Is my old domain really worth$4500

I used to own the domain name simple-time-management.com. I let it go as I focused on another niche. It was not smart as tghe Adsense would have covered the cost. I put it into go daddy and it says it is available for $4500. Does this mean someone bought it after I let it go and is flipping it? I am curious how this works thanks

It means someone is trying to scam someone out of $4500, that domain is not worth that much

It only means that someone bought it and is trying to sell it for $4,500. It doesn't mean that it is worth that or that anyone will buy it for that.

LMAO!! Basically.. I can't stand domains with dashes in them. Image telling someone "go to my DASH new DASH website dot com download my new report." If there's no link around, I'm not going to that site. Way too much work...

That's what a real estate investor taught me about houses. Doesn't matter what any website/person/company says something is worth. If someone doesn't see it as worth that much, it will sit there.

I was a victim of the "domain appraisal scam" a while back. Dude hit me up saying my iPhone 5 domain was worth like 10,000. Long story short, I ended up paying for an appraisal service only to find out he was running both the appraisal service and the company saying they wanted to buy my domain. Luckily I got my money back but it's good to know that nothing is truly worth anything. What matters is the value someone else sees in it...

A domain is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. A domain like the one would really only ever be worth something if it had...

    A) Consistant organic traffic.
    B) Authority and age.
    C) Great content
    D) Monetized or "scope" to be monetized.

If something has "value" then it will be worth something to someone.

Spend a little time looking through domain aftermarkets (GoDaddy Auctions, Sedo, etc) and you'll see that that most domains are way overvalued at those places. That doesn't mean they can't be bargained down, but they are hoping for noobs who don't know any better to come and pay the asking price first.

Don't worry, you made a wise decision dropping that name. It's worth regfee (at best).

No, it simply means that you are suffering from Post-Decision Dissonance

Very unlikely that a domain with two hyphens is worth more than the $8 registration fee.

I've seen rather ordinary looking domain names on eBay with minimum bids of $100,000 or more. Some sellers just stick very high prices on domains hoping someone will bite.

Agreed with all. This domain is worth reg fee at best to me and I can't believe seller is asking that crazy amount. But then again there are plenty of suckers with money to spend.
