Best ways to market a computer / iphone game ?

Hey, what's up Warriors?

So I have a friend who invested a game for phones and computer. It's an awesome game, really simple but highly addictive.

I was wondering, can anyone give me some good resources to study OR related information , on how to sell such a product?

    Go where the game players are, these are normally kids and teenagers, so Facebook ads will be a good start I think

    Like most iPhone games or games for that matter, have a high amount of money to market the crap out of it or make it go viral. Look at how big angry birds got after they pumped in the money to make it go viral. Social media will be your best bet for making it go viral, also create a Facebook version of the game.

    - Promote your ads in mobile and game sites, technology sites which do bring you lot of leads.

    Facebook Ads,
    - you can find out that FB ads ppc is cheap and you can reach huge market for the game. Lot of game company success advertise their game through social media.

    - Exchanges your game ads with other game provider. Win Win situation

    - Paid for people to write a review on your game and promote the game. Most people will look at the review 1st only decide to paid the money to buy the game.

    - you can provide it as free game but it do have limitation or do reach until certain level only.

    First, what is the name of the game anyway? I'm interested and want to try it out. Anyway, if you want to market it, just submit it to Google Android Apps or Apple Store. If it is addictive and fun, then it will surely pass the standards of such stores.

    I also agree with what JerrickYeoh have pointed out. But my tip will work best since most mobile users own an anroid or ios phones.

    Offer 2 versions of the game - Free and Paid one. People will download the free version and get access to a game with limitation - eg they can have access only to first level. Once they like the game, they need to upgrade to get the other levels. Initially you can do a limited time only special offer

    Also, submit your games to App review Game sites.

    Search groups at Facebook, Yahoo and Google that related to the games. And also forums which related to it. If you find proper groups and forums, you can make sales from them.

    If you want to advertise this to existing iphone game players, get your advert on their phones. You can sign up with OfferMobi and create your ad campaign. So that you don't lose money, I'd suggest running a 'pay-per-install' campaign. This way, you don't get people clicking the ad by mistake and costing you money.

    People would then promote it on the mobile web or in their own apps so and, you will only be charged when someone installs and opens your app. If it's addictive, you then have them where you need them.

    Spend a good amount of time thinking about your target market first. They may just be kids with facebook accounts but think of their interests and do your research. This will help you put together your instructions to your ad affiliates. Remember, people promoting your app will be MUCH more likely to promote it if you help them with stats and tips of where to promote and in what types of app.
