Optimizing 1200 wordpress blogs

Is there a way to optimize 1200 blog posts without doing it all by hand?

I am using All in one SEO to add titles, keywords etc - but the process takes forever. Almost none of the blogs are optimized.

    Yes.

    1. Create ONE blog. Customize that blog with all the themes, plugins, settings you want.

    2. Clone that blog and all of it's settings using a tool such as WP Twin (WP Twin)

    3. Deploy that clone on each new blog you create and all the theme, plugins and settings will be exactly as you want them right away. To deploy a clone on a new blog takes literally 3 seconds... all done.

    Huge time saver.

    Maybe I didn't explain correctly.

I have one blog with 1200 blog posts. None of them are optimized with titles, keywords, links, description, meta tags etc. Currently I have to go back and edit each post by hand.

Just curious if there is an easier process.

Ahh right, sorry, I misread your post.

I may be wrong but I don't think there is any way to do this. You really need to be doing the SEO from the start. A plugin like 'All in One SEO' will allow you to specify the format of titles, use text from the post as the meta description, and even let you use things such as tags or categories as the meta keywords, but if you didn't use any tags or categories in the first place then things like that won't work, so you would need to go back in and do it.

That's one hell of a task. I would outsource it!

This is exactly what I'm trying to say but my GM is pushing back wanting to do all the work!

How much is it to outsource that sort of job, around?

        Thanks for your quick replies.

    Hi

As WillR and others said there isn't an 'easy way' to do it but there are tools that can help.

There are 'search and replace' tools so you can search update the content in the database.

This is good if you want to add the same content and value to multiple posts, like adding tags when there weren't any before.

So you could search the database for articles that meet a certain criteria and then populate the tags fields of those posts.

Then when that is done, you can use another automated tool that uses the tags to add or update other content.

Outsourcing may still be your best bet. 1200 articles is a lot but if you outsource for $2 an hour you may be able to do it on a reasonable budget.

    2.00 an hour? Really? Omgoodness.

So really though, what's a reasonable offer for this project on a site like odesk (which I have never been on)

It's not all articles, some of it is junk and may not be needed at all.

So - is it safe to assume most people would outsource this sort of tedious task?

In the future - how much is a good amount to pay a blog manager to help with the marketing - my employees giving the content - but with the guidance of a blog manager letting us know what needs to be written to get certain results.?

You can find all that on Odesk, just take out an ad and see what offers come in.

You can find online workers for $2. But I am thinking you could probably get a one price contract or something that would work out to that amount for you.

It sounds like it is just cutting and pasting existing titles into your SEO plugin, adding relevant tags and deleting stuff so it is just menial work, not design or writing. That should be cheap.

If you want a "team" there are companies that specialize in providing complete outsource solutions that are more expensive than hiring your own VA's directly but still surprisingly cheap.
