@theOP: A reality check. Why should someone "take you by the hand" and give you $1,000? Or the method for making money online? The rest of us have had to struggle, pay for, and learn for ourselves.

GIVE before you get. 9 posts means you haven't given very much.

I see a lot of takers on this forum (and others). They want answers, and they don't expect to have to give anything for them. Why? Are you entitled to something? Does the world owe you? All the information you need is here in this forum--you have to get specific and sort.

You are going to have to get a lot more specific. There are tons of ways to make money online. So many I can't implement most of the ideas I have, because I'm CONCENTRATING on one. If you jump from thing to thing, you will never make money. Focusing and establishing yourself as "the person to talk to about that" will.

No hostility intended, here, but please excuse the observation that having a website listed in your signature-file which purports to teach other people a way of making money online, when you're stressing that you're looking for a way of making your own first $1,000 online, comes across as something like "fake it till you make it" and that doesn't encourage people to help, because it's painfully bad for your credibility, here.

Choose one money making model and stick with it.

Affiliate marketing is a great way to get started. Choose your niche, choose a good product (Clickbank is a good starting place), set up a simple site reviewing/promoting your chosen product and collecting subscribers, and drive traffic.

Whatever way you go, you'll find a lot of good information already here on the forum.

I subscribed to some of Russell Brunson's stuff when I was first starting out, and it's okay, but I'd recommend Ryan Lee instead. Cheaper and more useful.

To the OP, I'd say to get into a niche that you know something about and have a passion for. If you don't love what you're doing, it's unlikely that you'll stick with IM long enough to start making money.

To make money online, you need FOUR things in my humble opinion:

1 - TIME
2 - PATIENCE
3 - CREATIVITY
4 - FOCUS

Get those sorted and you'll be well on your way

Alexa Smith gave you some great advice there. To add on to some of those articles and personal experiences I've had myself:
1. If you're going to start a blog, write about what you love. If you don't love it, you'll probably end up giving up on it. Power bloggers become power blogger because they enjoy what they do. If you're just trying to promote affiliate products in all of your blog posts, then it really becomes meaningless.
2. Learn white hat. Lots of Google changes coming with constant panda updates and more to come (silently)
3. If your only goal is to make a thousand bucks and you're willing to put the effort into it, sell on e-bay, fiverr, or other third party markets where a service you have can be valuable
4. If you're looking for something long term, start researching in this forum, outside this forum. I'd encourage studying both online and offline as material can be different from place to place. From there, trial and error is a great way to learn from your own mistakes. I don't think anyone here would sit here and write up all of their failures and successes and how they did it. In fact, I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't even be able to articulate it. For a lot of Internet marketers, it's almost become second nature
Best of luck in your online endeavors. It's not easy, and products that tell you you can make a thousand bucks in 10 minutes either require your own creativity or are a complete waste of time and money.
