how can I get testimonials for a new product

Hi,
I have new product in the Weight Loss niche and the only reason I waiting and not listing it on CB is I don't have enough testimonials, I have 1 testimonial from the offline world and that's it.

what do I do?
I feel that in the WeightLoss niche there is no place for a product without proof

any suggestions?

    HI MM.

Try to get verbal/email testimonials to get started. I suppose these comments are based on potential customers/users reviewing the "plan" you have for weight loss.

Get your sales going with what you have. Then work on finding people for "before and after" pictures.

In both cases I am sure asking Warriors for help will yield many results.

Sorry, I can't help there... I am already down "to my bones".

    thanks Sam,
do you think selling the product with my one testimonial will work for now?

Getting eMail reviews is a bit problematic because we are talking about a ~200 pages prudoct

Another thing is to tie into how your product would help the typical person by saying "x% of americans are obese and they are putting strain on their knee joints, with this product you won't be one of them", then linking it to a medical study backing up why your advice is sound etc.

If gives your product a bit more substance, even if it's not a real person stating what the benefits of following the advice are...

Alternatively, you can offer it at a very low price in return for a testimonial?

Or maybe ask people who run weight loss blogs to review a free copy?

    Hope this helps a bit.

Depending how expensive the product is, you could invite people to take part in a free trial, as long as they agree to write you a testimonial (or even supply before and after pics) for the product at the end of the trial period.

    Hi

Several ways you can do this.

    1. Do a WSO

    2. If you have a list send it to them at a very special price

    3. Give it away for free to potential affiliates in the niche and ask them to review it and send a testimonial (some may request a link in exchange) some may promote your product as well.

Probably more but that what first comes to mind.

Try to sell it with discounts first so that you could get several people to buy your product and then ask them what are their experience with the purchase. It's what I do and it's effective for me.

Pick about six to ten respected people in your niche and ask them to review a copy which you will send to them for free. Do not just send people copies then asking... ask first, and if they agree, send them a free copy to review.

Your reviews/testimonials will then be looked upon with credibility by potential buyers because they come from, and are recommended by highly recognized people within your particular niche.

In closing, if you come up with a weight gain product, then send me a review copy

A great idea is to begin by just giving away your product to a few select people in exchange for them providing you with a testimonial. It is always best in these circumstances to choose people who are specialists in the area of your product - for example, if you are selling an ebook on internet marketing then you will want one of the well known internet marketing gurus to provide you with a testimonial (or rather, a few of them

Don't let testimonials stop you from selling your product. Push your product and source for testimonials later.

Join Groups, like in yahoo groups. In that way you will be able to find people who be interested in your product. But you have mingle to them first and not go directly into selling you product. Observe, and be patient.

    Good luck!

I think there are many people who want to try the new product. Find a way to get to them. Then posting their aftermath with graphic representation will do the trick.
