Here's How To Create an Email Sequence That Will Guarantee Huge Opens and Lotsa SALES

11 replies
TIP ABOUT CREATING EMAIL SEQUENCES....

Research your market and discover what their MAJOR problems are. Write them in a list. Than write 4 or 5 emails offering tips that help address those problems.

For example, here's some CORE problems facing YOU... People trying to MAKE MONEY ONLINE.....

* Confidence
* Focus (shiny object syndrome)
* who's the GURU (or anti-guru)
* Desperation
* Taking action (lack there of)
* Confusion and overwhelm (info overload)

Now again.. write a few short emails (~2 paragraphs) addressing each PROBLEM with no strings attached.

When you do this, you get a long sequence that provides VALUE.

When you fo that, youre the GURU and your list will reward you with SALES.

This is the easiest and brain-dead simple way I know of to create sequences that CONVERT

    Good content, thanks for that!

    You can also do Q&A all day long.

    My subscribers just love it...

        If you want high open rates and conversions, qualify your prospects before they opt-in. Set their expectations and then deliver. Everything else are platitudes.

      True... then use the above sequence on THEM.

      Yup, but for people to 'stick" on your list, you also need to offer VALUE. You're right about great copy - and combined with my advice on creating the outline for the CONTENT, you have a winner.

    I agree with this but the one thing I'd add is instead of writing tips in the email, just write a simple email like this..

    "Hey,

    I posted a free video on my blog where I talk about (problem)
    and how to solve it.

    Here it is (link)

    Let me know what you think.

    NAME"

    Then talk to them, in a direct to camera video, and give them a solution.

    Do that 3 or 4 times, then give them they old "If you liked all of this great free information I've been giving you, then you'll love (consumer priced product that leads to upsell funnel and BEOs).

      You know what?

      I've been doing this for a very long time and I've never thought of doing that! What a fantastic idea!

      I love the idea of "talking" to them in a personal VIDEO. I may try that.

    Thanks for the great info. A great subject line is definitely critical to getting your emails opened, followed by useful content that will help the subscriber. I'm on a few lists where the marketer uses the technique that LexiB describes. I have to say that I really prefer watching a video over reading a page of text.

      If you stopped here, I wouldn't have posted. Who could disagree? Have to know your market - this is never overstated, and the actual execution is much more involved than the mere statement suggests.

      When you do that, youre the GURU and your list will reward you with SALES.
      If you do that, you'll get rewarded with a lot of unopened emails if not canceled subs. I understand the point you're trying to make, and I think we agree in principle: give real value to people. Where we disagree fundamentally is on the definition of value and how it should be applied.

      What value is not: the free crap behind 90% of squeeze pages.

      Let me try to illustrate my point a little better. You offer a product on solo ads in your signature. If I bought your product, do you think I want you to help me with my mindset in subsequent emails or do you think I want to learn more about solo ads?

      You want to become the GURU? Then help me make money with solo ads! What do you think will convert better to your solo ads list, emails about positive affirmations and dream walking or advanced methods and tools on solo ads?

      This is called targeted marketing. I know you know this. But why the duck would you collect targeted leads and then offer them something they never wanted or asked for? You are doing the exact opposite of adding value.

      You should put the emphasis on value in the beginning of the equation; before your first followup. If you do that, then everything you want to accomplish after the opt-in becomes much easier. But what you've described as value I think is wasted effort.

      If they join your list by purchasing your product, you've delivered value where it is most useful and you also instantly establish trust and credibility but only on that subject. Don't go off the reservation. Stay focused. You can cross promote to your lists, but that's another topic entirely.

        Thanks for posting. Lots of useful ideas here. If you purchased the solo ad course, you wouldn't get an email chain like that.

        The email chain I posted is for people who opting for free courses and such. BUYERS..... I'd never use that on them.

        Having said that though, I totally get your point - instead of offering all my FREEBIE SEEKERS the same "general" campaign, lets use more SPECIFIC one for each optin campaign.

        I do agree in that you and I agree in principal. My opens are really good... but as this thread goes on, I see so many ways to improve it even further.

        Thanks EVERYONE - here's why I love this place.

    There's a FAR more important principle if you want
    your subscribers to open your emails and that's
    the process they go through to get on your email
    list.

    Let's say you offer a gift report that your prospects
    have to subscribe to get.

    If that's all you offer at that stage your open rate for
    your emails will be low because you haven't set any
    expectation for the emails your subscribers will be getting
    (they think "I got my free report now here comes the SPAM!!)

    If you ALSO offer a valuable highly targeted email course
    with your gift report that completely changes the expectation
    of your subscribers.

    Now they're thinking "Oh great here's the first tip in that
    email course I wanted to read!"

    So designing your optin process so that your subscribers
    are really looking forward to reading your emails can
    dramatically increase your opening rate.

    Also delivering the high quality content you promise makes
    sure a high percentage of people will open your emails.

    Kindest regards,
    Andrew Cavanagh
