Article Mass Submission-Good or wrong?

 If you have one article and massively submit to article directories is this good or the wrong way of article marketing? What is really the implication of doing this? Has anyone have any idea?

First, I submitted my article to ezinearticles. After the article has been approved I then mass submit to other articles' directories.

Personally my main purpose of submission of articles to other articles directories are for backlinks building purposes. From personal experiences I rarely have clickthrough from other articles directories.

Recently I started to submit quality contents to ezinearticles instead of quantity. I only have reasonably good amount of traffic when my articles reach the number one on the Most Viewed EzineArticles (90 days).

I do it the same way as steveniam. Submit to EZA and after it's approved there mass submit to others. You'll get the majority of your traffic from EZA if it's a good article, and maybe some from the other popular sites such as GoArticles & Buzzle. The mass submission is basically there to provide backlinks.

i had one bad experience with mass submission ... my site was relatively new and after i'd mass submitted i went from about number 8 to number 108 or so, and it took me a long time to climb back up the SERPS ...

so ... do it cautiously, particularly if it is a new site ...

that was the first time and last time i tried it ... now i focus on a couple of good PR article directories, but don't bother even trying to do 100s
