Is Signing Up as a Clickbank Vendor Worth It?

Hey guys,

I'm creating my own ebook and am thinking of putting it up on Clickbank. I'm wondering if it's worth it assuming:

-I offer 75% commission
-Clickbank takes 7.5% and $1

That means on a $40 ebook, I'm only making about $8. I know I need to have upsells on the backend, but is it worthwhile? Rather than just creating a sales page and driving my own traffic?

Thanks,
Raza

    Good news - it's actually $9

    Definitely.

Note that you can have a different commission rate on your upsells if you are using ClickBank's Pitchplus system.

    I would just do it.

What do you have to lose?
    Some set up time...
    That's it.

You only pay the affiliate commission when an affiliate refers the sale, so compare like with like.

Sure it is, if you can attract affiliates.

Which is better, to sell it yourself for $40 per copy (less your PayPal costs or whatever) or to have 10 good affiliates selling it for you and netting you $9 per copy.

Can you attract 10 good affiliates? That's the question, isn't it? But even if you can attract just a small number of decent affiliates, you'll be better off, surely? To attract 10 good affiliates, you need a decent product and a good sales page that converts its share of targeted traffic. Just like you do to sell it yourself.

And that's just looking at the initial product. It gets better when you look at the upsells on the backend, and the downsells on the tailend, and the sidesells on the other end, doesn't it?

And anyway, who said anything about it being an either/or? You can have the affiliates and still sell it yourself as well, can't you?

Yes it's worth it. IMHO the backend is what matters to me so you can actually give away all the frontend money. So let affilites drive the traffic for you and once their in your funnel you can make all the money you want.

Yes clickbank has a very professional system. If you are new and want to start out cheap, try jvzoo then maybe upgrade to clickbank.
