Here's my personal daily ritual that I am CONVINCED has catapulted me to the position in life that I now enjoy...

Every morning, I turn off the alarm clock, jump out of bed, go IMMEDIATELY to the mirror, look myself in the eyes, CLAP my hands together, and tell myself crisply and firmly -- with CONVICTION -- "LET THE PROCRASTINATION BEGIN!"

LOL. I know what you mean. Lately, I sure have found myself doing the same. Seems like I can find every excuse to avoid writing - so bad that my sidetracks are getting sidetracked. It's pitiful and I get aggravated with myself, but yet seem to do it again tomorrow. I think my latest quote should be "Why do today what you can put off 'til tomorrow?"

Here's hoping we both can get back on the right track!

The great "P" monster strikes again.

Before everyone jumps in with their remedy, I'll just say this.

Whatever project you're working on, just make sure that when you go to bed at night, you can tell yourself that you moved it forward, no matter how little.

      Cheers,

      Neil

Do you write a list down before you got to sleep for things to do tomorrow? I make a list every night, and I don't go to sleep until every thing on that list is done for the day.

When I was reading the caption I thought you were gonna say:

"Every morning, I turn..." on the computer, but
apparently it's off the alarm clock, haha...

I gotta say I did chuckle too as I read it.

The funniest part "LET THE PROCRASTINATION BEGIN!"

Now if that isn't motivtion, I don't know what is, LOL!!!

Oh crap, I just busted out into a big smile when I read that. Too funny.

BTW, do you offer personal coaching on this method? I'm not sure I could do this little exercise... but maybe if I had a good coach I could.

    Cheers,

Cathryn... A "better" way to say that is, "Don't put off til TOMORROW what you can put off until 3 weeks from TODAY!"

    Cheers.

TW - Too true. I'm dying laughing here - although in reality I'm kickin' my own @$$. (Didn't want to say it but I still haven't finished my project I 'swore' I'd have done by the 1st of the year.)

    What's an alarm clock???

I find that procrastination has helped me many times in getting my house cleaned from top to bottom or got lots of other 'non-urgent' jobs done.

I try to be positive - procrastination can be a good thing!

Then when there's mundane household jobs to be done I suddenly have urgent work on the computer.

Thats so true, I try to write my self a list if I know I have the whole of the next day to do stuff however I leave of things that I don't want to do such as University work so it doesn't quite work. But recently writing articles for my blog has been hard, too busy and not much motivation, but we best get to it we have money to be made people to make happy subscribers to opt in

All I can say is that when I write a list I get more done. I do list writing in waves of several days, then go back to disorganized behavior--whatever rises to the top of the brain.

PROCRASTINATION that's one of the biggest problems one has to face many times...especially when writing....you have to fight against yourself sometimes in this business....

    lol. Cracked me up.

I do have my moments of procrastination. It's inevitable. It is way too tempting not to give in. But just thinking about the huge pile of work waiting for me, I eventually end up procrastinating procrastination.
