Can you do THIS with Optimize Press?

I'm using the Squeeze 5 (header) template and want to know how to get those 4 golden widget boxes/columns beneath the video and optin form in the simplest way possible.

What are your suggestions?

Usually I would just make a child theme and duplicate Squeeze 5, and then throw in four widget hooks and call it a day. Optimize Press's code is more complicated than I'm used to seeing and I don't want to break anything!

So Far I've figured out how to create this general layout. I still need to style my table and insert the widgets ... having trouble figuring out how to call up the widgets that Optimize Press provides.

Did you checks the tutorial James does? I'm pretty good with OP but I've never tried to do that. Everything I've learned about OP was either through the tutorials or just screwing around with it until it looks right then never messing with that page again.

Thanks Lexi! It's nice to know someone else is here <3

      I'm using this tutorial
      Sidebars in WordPress

to create new widget areas, since I wasn't finding how to call up the widgets for Optimize Press ... they condense their functions into shortcode and I think it's hiding in there....

      Who's James?

James Dyson the OptimizePress theme creator...there's video tutorials done by him in your members area.

I too am a OP user, and if you are trying to install widgets, beneath the video (as shown above) you could use the two-column layout feature (in the OP shortcode/toolbox) when you create the sub-sections of a page/post entry it's in the upper right (last item) while you are creating post/pages.

Obviously, since you want 4 widgets, repeat the 2-column layout 2x, and instead of using plain text, install your widget HTML for 2-widgets, side-by-side, then repeat by creating another 2-column layout just below, and again, add HTML to those two widgets...

It should work... provided you know how to install the widgets writing them in HTML.

If you're not that proficient at writing HTML in 'pages' and 'posts' try seeking some help in the website design section of the forum, prob more qualified web builders who'd be able to better explain what I am saying.

What you are showing is NOT a sidebar, it would be in the main page/post content.

I know how to do this but I do it using a paid shortcode plugin that I purchased. I'm sure there is a good way to get that look without a plugin.

I've got Optimizepress running on a test site so let me know if you want me to try it for you.

I figured it out ... the long way.
    1. Start with a child theme. Copy the template I like into the child theme, along with its OptimizePress stylesheet.
    2. Create four widget areas. (I learned this as I went along using Lynda.com)
    3. Edit my childtheme template so that there was a four-column table, added padding and vertical alignment, then called in my new widget areas.
    4. Turns out there is a list of shortcodes to call in the widgets. I didn't know that so I wrote four new widgets.

Took me about 7 hours to learn what I needed to know and do it as I went. If anyone would like my child theme I'd be happy to share it - would be great to trade value.

The website is now here: Feel on Purpose | sacred living vs. living scared

It's still aways from launching at its final domain name but it's looking more and more like it should!

I like the appearance of the page/site.

I'm not familiar with Optimize Press, is the drop-down menu built in to it?
