ive been on twitter since xmas and love it have 42,000 followers and get a lot of good marketing sales from there. I also have fun too.

if you want it for business theres nothing wrong with posting a link to your optin free report as long as that is not all that you do. Chat to people in between as how they are dont just talk about yourself as that is what people like.

Great job on joining Twitter! The main thing with Twitter is that you want to start connecting and getting followers so you can add your Twitter link in your signature (which I need to do), you need to add it to the end of your autoresponder messages, and you will want to click on the Find People tab and type in the keyword related to your niche. So for example if you type in money into the Find People tab you will find different people in the make money online niche with thousands of followers. You will click on their link to view their Twitter page. From there you click on the followers button and when that opens up if you are logged in you will have the option to follow those people.

You will want to spend each day and try to follow around 100 people or say each day. Usually about 50% will follow you back. At the end of every two weeks or so you will want to go to this website - Your Twitter Karma and use it to find those that are not following you and you can mass unfollow them. The goal to having a clean Twitter account is to have a 1 to 1 ratio. I used the strategy just recently and have added over 1,000 Twitter followers in less than week! I am following closer to 500 per day, but you can do whatever you have time for. I am getting great traffic from Twitter already and have been able to trace dollars and JV partners to Twitter.

I started by following about 100 new people per day. The first day I added 800 - didn't read the rules and got suspended for 1 week for "aggressive following". After talking to twitter support, she said don't follow over 100 new people per day and you should be ok.

You can use a free service called tweetlater - that you can configure to send out auto replies to those that add you. This is very useful.

Then just start tweeting about what you're doing and the results you get. For example, I sent out about 12 tweets over 2 days, describing what results I was getting with a new SEO software on one of my wife's websites. Within those tweets I added my affiliate link for the software to my list of 2000 twitter followers, and I made 2 affiliate sales.

Twitter will cap you at 2000 that you follow - if - the number following you is less than 2000. One thought I've had is to open multiple accounts in twitter under aliases and use it as an affiliate marketing weapon. Imagine, 20 accounts with 2000 different followers in each - you'd have a responsive "list" of 40,000 people that you could tweet like crazy.

Hey man....cool.

Now all ya got to do is update your status and let people know you exist and that your real. Don't be too spammy though...you need to watch out with that.

Also, you should not get to caught up into it. Have a set schedule with it. ;-)

Thanks for all the advice and ideas. You're all awesome! I now got 43 followers in less than 20 hours. Is that good or bad?

When using Firefox, I can't click on the "Follow" button so I can follow those who are following me. But it's working in IE. What could be the reason?

I'm planning to invite my subscribers to follow me. What link shall I send them? Shall I send them my Twitter Page? If they join Twitter using my Twitter Page, will they be automatically be my followers?

Hi michael

send your subscribers to your twitter page i.e. twitter/username and as soon as the click to follow they will be part of your followers. You then need to follow them back and you will usually get an instant notification first.

Dont use an autofollow as these can be trouble you will end up following all the spammers and porn stars and that doesnt look good for your image.

to get a lot of followers follow the top dogs as people always go and follow their followers and it will give you a quick hit.

when i did that when i started out it added 225 followers in a few hours

twitter does play up a lot and firefox doesnt work with everything. I personally use both. for example twitter isnt working properly now but im sure it will later peak times are the worst when the aussies are waking up and the americans/british are all online.

twitter seems to be down a lot lately, when i went on earlier nothing was working so i gave up try at off peak times as when the brits, aussies and americans are all at once it can be extremely slow.
