Before I begin my rant, I like the Warrior Forum... It's a great place full of great people (mostly.. anyway)

So... I post a question into the the forum.. It gets removed.. Someone else asks one right after me... It gets removed
Their Q was about blogging.

The subtitle of the forum section I posted in says:
"Where We Talk About Making Money"

My question was "how do you monetize a/your blog?" Nothing linking back to me... no self promotion... nothing. Is this not talking about making money?

Another time, I spent a good 20 minutes putting some useful valuable content into a thread and it gets removed! When I asked why.. I didn't even get a response.

Yet someone links back to their site revealing a method of something similar... and it's cool, theirs can stay!

I think it's good to moderate a forum consistently... but at least remove the bad threads and keep the threads that: A) benefit people and B)Benefit someone asking a question seeking help/ advice.

I have seen more and more people moan about the WF and its moderation... In fact, the people who are following something I am doing have commented similar.

And for the trolls out there who genuinely like to answer and argue, this thread isn't for you.

You might have posted some links so that is why your question would have been removed. The answer of your question is that you can monetize your blog by checking the different stats such as Jetpack, Awstat, and Google Analytics etc. The comparison of stat from all tools will help you to monetize your blog.

      Craig,
There were no links in there buddy!
No, just in your sig. Which isn't a problem, until you start posting one reference to it after another after another.

It seems as though your real purpose is using the forum as a traffic machine, rather than engaging in normal discussion. Maybe a bit too focused on your "challenge?"

There are now other people doing much the same thing, based on the exact same challenge. Does whoever runs this training (please do not mention them by name or link) tell you to use forums as part of your traffic strategy?

I never directed anyone to it.... Nor did the last persons who you removed... or the big essay I put in!

It was a genuine question... And you removed it. I've not said... Hey! Look at my sig! I asked how people monetize their blogs.

There are people who monetize your forum, And you know this... hence the $60 charge for putting a little banner on there.(good move and can't fault you)

But I was merely asking a Q...I didn't reference anything to my sig. You know this yourself.. as I am guessing you took the time to read it? Go read it again... you may be mistaken on that last thread.

Not in so many words, because you had it removed for doing just that.
You've just got a little more careful.
But it's obvious what you're up to.
You even tell us this, on your blog

This is why we don't get into these discussions most of the time. Especially when someone thinks they've figured out how to get around the rules by playing the promotions indirectly.
There are people who monetize your forum
Yep. But they don't generally use the content of their posts as the sort of neon arrow you do.

And most of them aren't quite so directly associated with the person running the "challenge" they're talking about...

Was this response directed to me?

If so, you're mistaken. I read it, and I deleted it. Along with a number of your other posts, which all seemed more than a little self-promotional. It's not just an occasional appearance at this point. It's a pattern.
Yeah, forum posting is part of it...
I suggest you forget that part of it. There's an art to it which you don't seem to grasp.

If you are on a challenge that involves heavy forum posting for success, then you are much more likely to keep posting like a maniac in a form of self promotion. Once you cross the line, the thread/post will get nuked. It's happened to almost all of us at one time or another simply because we probably weren't aware of the rules and/or did not realize how our posts looked to others. And so, this thread is likely to get nuked anyway, but there it is.

Have you ever stopped to think that what you're doing is the exact thing wrong with the internet? It's link spam. Something that Google mentioned as undesirable and I agree with them.

Why will it have happened to most of us? It sure as hell hasn't happened to me. You see, I comment on things that make sense and I don't point anyone anywhere subliminally or otherwise.

You can try to beat the system, have some success and then have it all come crashing down. Or you can actually provide something useful to others as your PRIMARY PURPOSE. That way you build a brand of trust. People like you and they trust you and they will buy off of you continually if you offer things to them.

Is this meant to be like a donation blog you're building?

Or just get put on hold for a week, with longer vacation periods to come in the future if it continues.

As Craig says, life's too short for this. And I am done arguing with people who think their way around the rules is new and clever. This stuff was old news back in the Usenet days.

Yeah, forum posting is part of it... I don't deny that.. but when you ask a normal question. and give value to the community... then why not? Its not harming anyone. Its putting into the community. I've helped tons of people.. they say it in the threads I answer.

But I don't know how you an comment if you didn't read it... lol

well anyway.. I just wondered why it was removed.

I haven't seen the posts in question so I can't comment on that, but...

Did you see this in the forum rules:

      5. If your thread is deleted, do not re-post it. Do not post a thread asking why it was deleted. Read the rules, watch how things are done here, and figure it out. This is not complicated stuff.
      (Emphasis added by me)

Whether you agree with the rules or not is irrelevant - that's the rule set out by the forum management.

It seems like you might be doing things a little too blatantly when the first few posts on the site you're linking to in your sig all explicitly state that you're using the Warrior Forum to drive traffic.

Sure, plenty of people do but maybe you need to be a little more discreet about it.

I did read it. And then reported it for being another ad.
It was pretty much the same format as most of your posts.

Only offering good valuable information... If people wish to click a signature they may... Like you offer a banner service.. there is a reason why do you so.

I've never told anyone to click my signature, nor have I pm'd anyone to. I ask questions on subjects I wish to know more about. And I answer other peoples.

I said I want to monetize my blog cause there is traffic going to it... That isn't in any way shape or form saying click my sig :/

Anyhow... life's too short for a silly back and fourth.

Good on you for moderating a question that was genuine and looking for advice...

Before it was taken down... I did get a good nugget of information! So I got a bonus from it never the less

      Indeed.

I wish you well with your other traffic strategies. This one isn't going to work for a while.

      I don't. The forum does.

If I understand correctly, you ask a genuine question. Then, the answer, or at least an answer, is in your sig. How is that a genuine question? Isn't it self promotion?
