Does Anyone Choose WP for Their Squeeze Pages?

I've been using Wordpress for my squeeze and OTO pages but some quirks are making me aggravated.

1. It tries to add <p> and <br> tags around everything.
2. I have tracking links in my posts and WP visits every link on the page, when I update the post.
3. Adding inline JavaScript or PHP is a pain in the butt.

I'm considering going to straight HTML.

Are there any reasons to stay with Wordpress?

For multiple offer pages on single domain, yes I do. For single offer pages on single domain, I prefer static HTML.

    >> Grab the Raw HTML plugin

For a squeeze page, sure WordPress can be overkill. But if you're using some of the handy plugins such as the ones for Google Analytics, or Ninja Popups, it can be nice to stick with WordPress. However, I would build a custom page template for your theme. It's pretty easy, you just need to add get_header() and get_footer() to the top and bottom of your page. Then you can insert custom HTML in between those PHP calls, and you'll get your header and footer nav (assuming that's what you want). You can even set those to display:none with CSS, if you just want to incorporate the page into your theme and not display your header and footer. Again, the benefit comes when you're using other plugins that would be useful to incorporate onto your squeeze page.

Oh yea most definitely. You'll need to figure out which theme you want to go with first though. There are a few to choose from. Optimizepress is probably the most popular. It's strictly for sales & squeeze pages.

Profits Theme is real nice. It has a lot more features for an all around internet marketer.

Next choice is WP Leadrocket which is a plugin that creates squeeze pages with custom backgrounds.

There are many more and you'll find some WSO plugins that handle the job.

I use to do the HTML squeeze pages using Photoshop and it because a real pain in the a**. I'm not that knowledgeable of pure HTML coding. I've been spoiled by wordpress. Anything outside of installing a plugin and a few clicks usually sends me in circles now.

    But those are your choices..

    Best wishes

I use Optimizepress and love it. I haven't had any issues. I find it to be very helpful. Personally, i think it's a good investment, especially since it's a one time fee and I think it's one of the best themes.

I guess the trade off... Do you want something free, but take more time using straight html?

      Or

Spend $97, but spend less time creating your pages...

I use both depending on what I am working on. If it is PLR and the existing squeeze page is OK then I use that and they tend to be html.
If I am building a new squeeze page then I prefer wordpress. I also use optimizepress and more recently a new one called WP Paper Template by Robert Plank. It is really good as you can use it on an existing site and override the main theme where you need to and is easy to use.

I don't see any real advantage in using wordpress for a squeeze page. I do have a blog that gives away a gift every week. I just have a rotator set up with over 100 different squeeze pages. So any time the visitor clicks on the gift he will receive a different report.

Each report is made to be viral and can be given away.

But every squeeze page is an html type page.

I'm big into squeeze pages but none are on wordpress.

    Best regards,

Are you happy to share the name of the html squeeze page builder you use?

IF it's just some squeeze pages, then probably plain HTML would be your best bet. If you have a bunch of squeeze pages tied to something like a blog or more content-heavy site, I highly recommend Wordpress. I use Premise for my landing pages and it's very easy to make a variety of different kinds.
