VPS recomendations anyone?

I'm looking for a good quality VPS but overwhelmed with how many hosting companies out there.

Is there anyone who has a VPS and recommends anyone?

I'm looking for one that doesn't suffer with speed or downtime, and customer support is great to handle problems.

I appreciate all the help..

Regards,

Lee

Have you checked out Knownhost, Wiredtree, InMotion Hosting, Future Hosting, to name a few. What specs/requirements are you looking for, managed or un-managed, and what's your price range?

I've been through so many, i can't keep track!

I've been looking through web hosting talk forums, found some great offers, however i don't want to splash money out and end up with a crap hosting product.

I'm looking for something on the lines of 100 hard disk, 1tb bandwidth, also that includes CPANEL and WHMCS.

Will have a scout around those you've mentioned and see if any fit my budget.

      Regards,

What is your budget for this & what amount of resources are you currently using?

What are the problems you're experiencing "now"?

How many accounts are you hosting? Aside from "wanting" a VPS, do you really "need" a VPS?

      Those are excellent suggestions.

Depending on budget and location, you also have EuroVPS, Media Temple, and JaguarPC.
All of the are excellent, excellent VPS hosts.

You won't have a problem like you will at Hostgator, Bluehost, Justhost, etc -- all EIG brands.
Their VPS are a "me too" offering.

Must be pretty big sites if you're looking for 1TB bandwidth. I haven't quite reached that stage just yet LOL.

From my experience with reseller hosting and the companies customer support service, I would recommend Namecheap and JustHost. I use Namecheap primarily for my domain name registration but I did try out their hosting for a couple of months and I found no problems what so ever. I have also heard some good reviews about their VPS.

JustHost are who I currently have a Reseller account with and here again, I have had no problems. The only issue I did have, they resolved within a matter of minutes.

    Hope this helps someone

I chose entrepreneurship over further education despite being laughed at by my friends and family..

I recently hit the "RESTART" button on my life, read my personal blog to find out how I did it :)

      J Crosbie,

Yes, there's a few big sites I'm looking to re-home to another hosting. but I'm looking at getting a VPS rather then a reseller account, which I'm currently on.

I've looked at Namecheap, however i purchase all my domain names there so I'm one that will never buy domains and host at the same place. just to keep safe.

Will check out JustHost and see what they have..

      Regards,

      Lee

I get you, how come you would not want to get your domains and hosting from the same place? That's confused me haha.

It's just to keep everything safe, you see if i have any problems with domain names then i won't have problems with my hosting.

I've heard of people having certain problems before with buying hosting and domain names at the same registrar, which is why i keep everything split just in case.

You never know if anything can happen to yourself. Not saying it would, but i feel better knowing if one thing goes wrong then my other things are safe.

      Regards,

      Lee

I have good experience with Ubuntu vps hosting at myhosting.com.

Never had any need for support, the vps just runs.

myhosting is another "me too" provider.
It's mostly known for shared hosting, and reviews are mixed at that.

You know, I've used a lot of different hosting companies over the years, and the best by far is now LiquiLayer imo. They have a thread here and some discounts, but I think that sale is over.

I have a reseller account with LiquiLayer and I like them much better than HG (good but becoming less so), Namecheap (goes down a lot), Arvixe, KVC Hosting (a nightmare with regard to uptime), and several others I've tried.

The support is good, but not as fast as HG. That's the only downside to using LiquiLayer.

      Hi there,

Could you give me a little more info about this? If you have any issues, I'd certainly like to make sure they're being addressed.

      Thanks,
      Brent

Try LiquidWeb and you wont look for another webhost. They have a very good support as well 24/7/365 and also server monitoring system called sonar monitoring which checks server every 5 minutes or so. If the server goes down then the staff will be notified and they will fix the issue within minutes. Go check it out.

          Servint every time.

I also had one with Knownhost. They were good but Servint were better for me.
