Default John Reese Video Graphics

Can anyone explain the process and tools John Reese used in the TS2 promo video and the promo video for opportunity.com?

Was it shot in 2 takes as follows: 1. Teleprompter & JR; 2. Flash/Screenflow/Keynote?
Was post done with After Effects or another tool or tools?

Appreciate any tips!

I will see if I can get John to post. I know he is busy right now getting ready for opp. com

I do know he has a KILLER video editor.

Talks soon!

Mike

For the Opportunity.com video I wrote the script and then recorded audio only in our studio. Then our Director Of New Media and motion graphics expert created the animation to go along with the audio. The majority of the animation was created from scratch using Illustrator and Photoshop and then tied together using Adobe After Effects.

This video was actually created in only about one day. We had to rush it a bit. My full-time guy that created it actually has done work on major commercials and other projects for TV and movie studios. So just a 'heads up' as After Effects isn't just something you can learn in a few days and then start producing animation like that. It's pretty complex stuff. (I don't even understand it!)

Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, I can't give you a specific cost for this single video as it was made by people on my team (salaried employees).

In keeping with my ghetto Camtasia style, there will be no special software. It will all be done using some of my Camtasia tricks. Ask anyone, I'm cheap, cheap, cheap (or is it just that I hate learning new software).

BTW, if anybody knows how to get that old music from Bugs Bunny cartoons, where there's an assembly line and the chirpy music repeats over and over again, I would love to get that clip or s/t similar.

I can vouch for Kevin being cheap. He is still wearing his yellow mankinie from 3 years ago. His wife said he won't take it off so she can wash it and it only cost $.25 to do the washing. Now is that rank errr cheap or not.

Yeah and his http://CreateVideoLessons.com. (not an affiliate link) is cheap too. He does a good job of keeping it simple and easy for a guy like me who is so techie challenged.

Yeah, you certainly are right John!

I make video promos using AE. Some warriors have contacted me, but it is NOt easy to learn. I would say a couple of learns at least. Now that I have had a bit of exp, I am pretty quick, and good (though I say so myself!)

In response, the traffic secrets video is something which is pretty easy to make. If anyone, or even John(!!!) wants me to let them know how to do it then please feel free to pm me and I can let you know how to do it on AE.

EDIT:
Hey John! I just HAD to opt in for opp.com, and I must say the first video is nice. I CAN see that it was made quickly, but it is Very pro nonetheless, like a flash slideshow. I especially liked the engine! Was that done in Fl or Ae?
