Problem with first wordpress install

Hey guys,

I downloaded wordpress for my site using hostgators fantastico, now im unable to log into wordpress and see the dash board and add content.

before it was my host gator c panel now its just a wordpress site I cant log into.


Please can somebody help, thankyou.

    What do you mean by downloaded Wordpress for your site? Why do you need to download Wordpress? Or did you mean you installed Wordpress?

    You need to describe the situation in more details.

    Do you not remember your password when you filled out the wordpress installation. It would likely be different from your hostgator .

    Did you try "yourdomainname.com/wp-admin" in the address bar . You should get a login box. On the bottom of the box it asks you if you lost your password. Click on it and your password will be delivered to your email you submitted when you filled out the wordpress set up fields.

    Also, if all else fails contact hotgator, often they will help you even if it is not directly a hosting issue.

    Hi,
    If you don't know where you have to enter password and username than type "yourdomainname.com/wp-admin" in your address bar and if you have forgotten the password than you can use the e-mail to reset it or you can reset it through phpmyadmin in Cpanel

    You're ignorance at your question; why should anyone help you while they don't know what your problem is in detail?

    It's too general issue. You can't login because of what?
    - Because of your site would not load; assuming (http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/)
    - Because you forgot your username or password
    - Because .................................................. ..................

    Make your issue in a details. What steps that you've already done but no succeed.

    - Download Wordpress Pack here: http://wordpress.org/download/
    - Extract it on your PC.
    - Login to your Hosting panel and create a database
    - Open "wp-config-sample.php" and fill in the site database information that you've created earlier. Rename this file to "wp-config.php".
    - Using FTP softwares to connect to your Hosting site and upload all files and folders of Wordpress that you've extracted earlier into your site folder.
    - Go to your site address and follow the installtion instruction.

    This just brief methods to get an idea!
