Was the Warrior Forum attacked yesterday?

Hello all,
Yesterday the WF was very slow indeed, I have just read this -

Global internet slowdown after biggest cyber-attack in history | Mail Online

Yesterday there was over 100,000 people online, most were guests, do you think this was to blame?

    I also noticed that the Warrior Forum was slow, it was the first occasion where the WF has ever annoyed me haha. At least it's working again now though

    The BBC were reporting a similar thing earlier BBC News. Could explain why things were so slow / ground to a halt on here last night.

        There've been a few (thankfully a very few) spambots getting past the defenses, the last couple of days, I think.

        On the home page it says "Most users ever online was 140,944" which was actually last night, but I don't know over what period that's measured (i.e. they're not necessarily all online at exactly the same moment).

        As the owner of a little niche forum about 1% of the size of this one in both content and membership-numbers, I can tell you that Thomas does a fantastic (and often under-appreciated) job, here.

    Yeah, seemed really slow yesterday. Someone said it was due to somebody's WSO launch.

    Personally I'm not sure that that would do it, I'm sure the WF has a decent hardware setup to be able to handle traffic like that easily, as this wouldn't be the first time someone launched a popular WSO.
