Just a wee bit of help...A wee bit...

Finally about to prelaunch my membership site and have my prelaunch on a subdomain.

Can anyone say if this is the way to go...(using optimize press and have perpetual launch)

I redirect everything from the membership site domain to the subdomain and once the sequence of emails have been gone through from the first day of the prelaunch (9 days) I change it back, the prelaunch sequence will hopefull propagate itself, but the full membership site will be online nd available...

Never done a full on prelaunch before, so would like to make sure Im on the right track...

Any advice would be very welcome...

Thanks

JJ

    Hi James

I read your post through a couple of times but still don't really follow what you're asking.

What's the relationship between the membership domain and the subdomain got to do with anything? Your question is a bit confusing. Can you rephrase it maybe?

Thanks for replying Steve.. Apologies for the confusion.

I'm doing a 9 day prelaunch (all configured content and autorespnders linked up etc.). Ready to go.

I'm using Optimize press (and have the prelaunch hosted on a subdomain ( ie www.launch.mysite.com)

The actual membership site is www.mysite.com and is a just blog at the moment.

When I go into prelaunch I will send my subscribers the prelaunch link, and initiate a redirect so that others who are not on my list but may know my blog, they will be redirected to the prelaunch.

During the 9 days of initial prelaunch I will uploads content and configure the site.

After the 9 day period, mysite.com will be live and those who have gone through the prelaunch will be directed to mysite.com

I will keep the prelaunch process online as others may still be in the funnel.

Sorry for being long winded, but do not know how to explain it better.

Just asking if this would be the way to do it...

    Thanks again

It sounds like you are trying to overcomplicate something that doesn't really need to be.

Just create the one members area. Use it for prelaunch and then use it for the live site. If someone is to come across your website during prelaunch well damn, that's just another sale for you.

I don't see any advantage to separating things like you mention.

Thanks Steve. Hadn't thought of that. It's all configured though. Sonwould be difficult to change it. Must admit my explanation does sound complicated.

But thanks again for taking the time to reply.

    Best Regards

You know if you create a subdomain, you need to promote it as a seperate domain. Because subdomains are considered as seperate parts of web site. You need to promote your main site blog AND subdomain in search engines. Just sayig ... still it is your option.

Doesn't OP have this option? use a pre-launch page with countdown and everything, on your home page?
