Anybody into the domain resellers scene?

Not domain flipping, but selling actual domains - something like a godaddy.

Except your just a reseller/affiliate for one of the big guys...

What are the payouts like, which reseller do you use?

The commissions as you'd expect, are miserable. We're talking about low priced products with razor thin margins. I have a business where I resell domains but just because it helps people use my service. It's a convenience for them, using my service to buy a domain name instead of having to interact with other company.

If you're entering the game just to sell domains I'd say it's a waste of time.

Ditto what Tyrus said. I've had a reseller account for years, but mainly because it's convenient to get my customers set up. Lucky if you make a dollar per registration... so you'd have to have at least 100 registrations just to bereak even with the annual cost of the reseller plan.

I am a reseller for Wild West Domains, they have a customizable website that you can edit in a number of ways. I change my site every year or so. You can also change the sidebar offerings to add your own content. I don't get a lot of money from it, but there are resellers making 5 figures a month form it.

Do not get between a wombat and a chocolate biscuit; you will regret it dearly!

Some domains are like real estate..i have a very systematic method in finding new domains...and you would not believe the ones that i had found many of them ending .IN TLD - however every prime single word domain I would find and that was available when i went to check-out they magically dissapeared! Its a dirty game! damn cyber squatters and these companies stealing the domains.

My question is if you become a reseller will you still run into these problems, and if you were to buy from your own site?
