Making money off a list?

I've been reading over the forum and seeing about how one can profit from having a nice list. I get that you setup a nice squeeze page and promote it etc to get opt ins. My question is then what?

Lets say I did a squeeze page on anxiety and have a nice list that I now want to profit from. I can sell them ebooks on breathing or herbal tea. If none of those are my products though how am i gonna make money. Is it by providing an affiliate link in my email and it takes them to those products and they buy I make money? In this example what would i be doing after getting all the opt ins to make the money?

Thanks

The general concept is giving away a lot of high quality free knowledge, then offer them a product.

Build a lot rapport, and build a brand.

      Hey Greedy,

Because you said "a lot of high quality free knowledge" I think it isn't the best idea, because that way you educate your list that you are the person, who gives the best free content, but they are not interested in your paid content.

I think almost anyone is ready to pay for a product, if he/she is sure that this product will solve him/her a problem.

In my opinion the best way to do email marketing is to review a product, offer a free bonus packed with the product and that way you make the offer unique for your subscriber. Like you said, you need to provide free content, but I think free is not necessarily 100% free. Free bonus to a paid product is also a good idea

      Best regards,

      Alex

      Alex,

What I am wondering is how your making money off the offer. Who is it you use for that offer, do you find affiliates on a site like shareasale because if you are offering a product that is not yours in this email where are you making the money from or more over what account do you have to have for you to make the commission off of it?

The one thing that people often overlook is to pick a niche where there is an ongoing need and a lot of potential products to promote. Not every topic makes for a profitable email list long term.

Topics like cooking, internet marketing, fitness, financial markets, etc. are things you can talk about everyday.

Topics like anxiety, not so much.

You could send your list to a "how to relive anxiety” guide affiliate offer, or to somewhere like Amazon where they could actually buy a natural anxiety treatment. In both cases you would need to include your affiliate link to make commissions.

That's one way of building your list (and a very common one). It isn't the only one.

    Yes.

Sometimes the affiliate commission can be as high as 75% of the sale price (occasionally even higher).

You have to start doing it even while building the list, because each person who opts in needs to hear from you on that day, and again within another day or two, and again within another 2-3 days, and so on. Which is why you need an automated set-up to send out the email series (known as an "autoresponder").

This thread will help you, I think: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6123982
