Someone From Paypal Keeps Calling My Residence Does This Seem Odd To You?

I keep receiving voice mail messages from someone allegedly from PayPal. The person seems informal and wishes to speak to me about “changes to my account.” Or “new services that won’t cost me a thing.” The whole thing sounds weird.

What’s odd is that you’d expect Paypal to contact people via e-mail and promote their new products, services and offers when you log into your account.

It is not uncommon at all for PayPal to contact me by phone. In fact, it is their preferred method of contact.

Chances are that it is legit, but to be sure, if they ever ask you for your password on the phone, then they are not the real thing. The same thing applies to your SSN.

Paypal employees will never ask for such things. Scammers will.

p.s. They have called me dozens of times, usually the security dept. I don't recall ever having been offered "new services".

As long as they don't request private information such as (but not limited to) your account password, it's fine. The best way to find out is to actually talk to them when they call next time around and decide for yourself. I wouldn't be too worried though.

Well, to share my experience I used to email Paypal (last few months) to ask questions related to one of my active subscriptions. To my surprise, a lady claimed to be from Paypal called me few days later.

I was curious and my first thought was that it's a scammer who try to steal my info as this lady asking me for my personal info. I told her politely that due to security reasons, I don't feel safe to give away my details. She acknowledged that and said understand my concern and will contact me via email.

I got the email (a real email from Paypal) and only then I just recalled that I have asked Paypal some questions few days back. I can 100% confirmed the lady whom I spoke to on the phone is from Paypal In fact, I am quite surprise that Paypal did call people

I suggest you call Paypal, see if there is any issue with your account -- this way you will know whether the calls you've been receiving were legitimate calls from Paypal or not.

Never received offers for new services, but Paypal has called me numerous times to get stuff straightened out.

I'd Google the number and see if there are any complaints on it. PayPal has called me multiple times when reviewing my account but never to pitch me any new services.

They called a couple times when they saw uncommon pattern
in charges on my Paypal card. For example, if I'm traveling to
another state and used the card for gas and hotel stays.

But not to offer new services though. That's a new one.

I have returned the call and the person was legit but the purpose of the call was still a bit odd to me. He wanted to discuss the Paypal app for smart phones that allows you to take credit card payments directly through the phone. As an affiliate marketer this really isn’t of any use to me at the moment. So I simply told him to e-mail me some information and if it ever becomes something that is of use I’ll consider signing up for it.

Paypal will call if anything is wrong but they always send an email out first and they never offer any deals or service upgrades over the phone. I have seen this scam in action and i suggest you change your password and call paypal to verify just to be safe

Call pay pal up. Find out what is going on. Probably it is a scam. However, it is best to be sure. I was called when I did move. They are very suspicious. Also, they check the IP number that you are using. Like if it changes they can block your account so do not use pay pal at a friend house, because they can turn it off right away. Maybe they are having an issue. Phoning pay pal is easy.
