Google Content Experiments + Optimizepress Not Working Well Together.

I want to do a simple split test with my control and variable squeeze page.

I need to add the google tracking code to the header of both pages.
and the experiment code to the header of the control page.

Simple enough.

But everytime I do that google either says
"I dont have the tracking code installed".
or
"the tracking code is over the experiment code and it wont work like that.

I've tried going into the header.php file -- doesn't work.

How are you all split testing your squeeze pages??

I do not use optimize press; however, I am currently split testing several squeeze pages (my sig has a link)

But, sometimes Google Analytics "says" that tracking is not installed; however, it is still tracking. So...check if it is tracking, don't believe it when it says it's not installed.

As for the Experiments code. That should be right after your opening <head> tag while the analytics code should be right before the closing </head> tag.

That way experiments will fire off first before ever getting to any analytics code.

I wouldn't think you would need to mess with header.php. I would imagine OP has a way for you to insert code into the header.

Try using statcounter instead, and see if that works. I've moved away from Google Analytics...they don't need to be in my life that much.

I had that same issue a few days ago. I fixed it by NOT putting the google code in the custom tracking code section of OP's general setting BUT in the page itself under Page SEO & Optimization options / Tracking Codes & Javascript.

Did you just put the experiment code and the tracking code in the same box? With the experiment code being first as mentioned above?

Im going to give this a try. Thanks.

My GA code remains on the general setting, and the experiment code is on the page setting.
