The camtasia vids are really bad - anybody know a good product out there -otherwise theres a good product idea for someone

Glad I could help. And hhat do you mean by bad?

I personally find Camtasia to be really easy to uses and the video quality is as good as it gets. Are you sure it's not the resolution you're recording in?

Maybe the tuts for your version are a bit outdated.

I used the ones for Mac and thought they were really good. Here are the latest ones for V8:

  I prefer to use youtube vids for tutorials, since I agree that product instructional videos are often bad. It's easier to learn from a user who screen records what they do and upload it to youtube. Also, you could laser in on a certain aspect of camtasia, which in your case would be "blocking out sensitive information with camtasia"

Anyone know alternative to Camtasia that can blur sensitive info ? Can Sony Vegas do that?

I have not used Camatasia for awhile, but I know I did this in a much earlier version, so it is there to be sure.

An alternative though would be to just add a png image to your project and place it over the sensitive data. You can even use a branded logo/image to cover sensitive data which will add to the branding of your video.

Great suggestion Marty,

This is exactly what I would recommend. I use Camtasia and it just takes some getting use to. If you do a lot of scrolling it can be a real pain but if anything find a tutorial online (I have some some written tutorials with screenshots helpful) and see how you get on.
