Information Product Coaching?

by Greedy
46 replies
I have 3 membership site based around info products.

These sites are making me around $10k a month total.

I really they're not optimized too good. I feel like I can take them to the next level.

Any suggestion on top tier coaching or products? And why they could help me?

You are making $10K per month? That's probably more than 95% of the mebers here.
    You should be coaching others...

Yes maybe true, I work hard and am blessed.

But there are bigger fish in sea.

Trying to connect/learn from with them.

Terrible advice. Someone who starts making a steady income online shouldn't necessarily turn right around and teach others. It's like telling the guy who hits his first home run to start teaching others baseball.

THAT is what's wrong with the industry. Too many 'experts' and not enough experts.

It was not intended as advice but i do agree with you there are too many know-it-alls on this forum....

'Know-it-alls' (as you call them) are fine so long as they do actually know what they are talking about. The problem is most do not.

What I was referring to was your comment recommending someone should start teaching others just because they have started to make an income online. I don't agree with that. There are far too many people in this industry trying to teach others when they are yet to master it themselves. I know it's what this industry thrives on but it doesn't make it right.

So just be careful when looking for coaching. Make sure you find someone with a proven track record. Not someone who is just coaching but someone who is doing or has done what you want to do several times over.

I would contact those who you already follow and see if they offer coaching. Since you already have some experience it will be easy for you to judge who is "real" and who is "faking".

By your own admission you said you haven't optimized your sites. Perhaps you could use some outsource help to optimize your sites instead of buying coaching?

Maybe get even more articles out. SEO onsite offsite, and affiliate funnel etc. Take at look at all the things you may have not done to maximize your site and find someone to hire to do them. Just my penny ante advice.

One of the more obvious things you can do is sign up to some of the big IM membership sites and make some notes on their sales funnels, how they interact with subscribers, the common elements in their sales letters etc.

As others have said, to be Generating $10,000 per month makes you ahead of most marketers online. I believe you don't even really need a coach. Just continue to scale up your efforts

Just from what I've heard by reputation, you'd have to do your due diligence:
Jason Fladlien, Robert Plank, Perry Marshall, Mark Hendricks, Alex Jeffries
Probably other Warriors - I just don't know em.

Thanks for all the feedback guys ...

It's like telling the guy who hits his first home run to start teaching others baseball.
Well this isn't my first home run, been making good money full-time online for almost 6 years now. But honestly I don't have time to do coaching, I've got bigger fish to fry. So lets all not worry about that.

By your own admission you said you haven't optimized your sites. Perhaps you could use some outsource help to optimize your sites instead of buying coaching?
I'm currently knocking out optimizations daily, but I know there are things I maybe over looking.

One of the more obvious things you can do is sign up to some of the big IM membership sites
Yes this would be ideal, any recommendation. I've been nearly every CPA forum, and while they touch on sales funnels I need something like them that focus on sales funnels.

Thanks, I think I need to start searching around for advice on "sales funnels" instead "information products" / "membership sites"

      Now you are getting somewhere

That's what I would focus your attention on also. Sales funnels are vital to most business models. Since you have 3 membership sites you can add these into the backend of these funnels to really start scaling up, maybe by adding in some paid traffic.

I would look up "Charles Kirkland" for expertise on this. I've followed him for years and he knows his stuff when it comes to sales funnels and paid traffic.

      Good luck.

      Cheers,

After 2 years 3 months of research... I found alternative's for essential tools (like gotowebinar, camtasia, survey monkey and many more) that are just as good as the ones you've heard about, but cost a ton less! So good even Guru's like Mike Filsaime have used and recommended them. Click here to find out what most insiders know but don't tell...

Firstly I'd like to say you are doing better than most and you should be coaching others or maybe even put what you've learn't and your methods into your own product.

But to answer your question the best coaches to help you take it to the next level would be Alex Jeffery's and John Thornhill. Both are great and I have learn't plenty from these guys.

Two areas I would suggest you work on...

    1. Ramp up big time using partners and launch techniques...this will get tons of attention, some good JV partners on board and really get things humming in terms of traffic and sales

    2. Look at optimizing your conversions...do you have any idea on what visitor/conversion stats are today? Are you converting 1-2%, more? Less?

Finally, how is retention? Are you keeping your members, what is their drop rate?

I myself run several infoproduct businesses, some with membership sites. To be honest, what worked the best for me is focusing on the points I outlined above. Speeds things up from slow growth of organic or the hit and miss technique of paid ads.

Hi Greedy, I have a few marketers in mind that I think might be able to help Mike Filsaime or Lee Mcintyre have some coaching programs but depending on what you want there might be some better choices out there. I have a friend who started a successful online business through SEO perhaps I can get a hold of him and he can help you.
    PS
I'm starting a site that will have some interviews with successful marketers, based on your success might you have some interest and having a promotional interview? There would also be an opportunity for you to make a residual income from it too, so message me if that sounds like something you might be interested in.
Either way I hope some of what I said helps.

    Hi Greedy,

I think at this point you should try to connect with big million dollars marketers in mastermind groups. One I really like is John Carlton, there are also others that are good too as some people mentioned in this thread...

Anyway that is what I would do to take my business to the next level, connecting, networking.

    Cheers.

Why don't you just continue what you are doing now? Its working for you so just repeat what you are doing and build on it to increase your income?

    Or outsource it?

Greedy, I haven't used Wishlist in some time, our membership sites now support members in the thousands so we had to move to something more robust. If I recall correctly the reporting was limited, but I would suspect you have a report to view members who have left/cancelled in the last week/month - from there you may need to triage how long they are staying. You should also be able to tell just from running a weekly/monthly report on active members. If you have 10 new members join in the month and your active membership stays the same, you know you are losing them as fast as they are joining.

That's a great job! Congratulations on reaching a level that most people only dream of!

Regarding your sites, I do conversion optimization coaching and have done so for many years. Basically, I help you get more people to buy what you're selling, through a combination of well-designed sites, search engine optimization infrastructures in those sites, share-worthy content and good old human psychology.

I don't advertise it often on the forum here but I'd be delighted to discuss things with you further if you're interested.

I was recommended this company as I asked for some advice as a newbie. He said he outsourced everything for around $3000 and now makes $15,000 a month. He started by using this company and got top rankings for 25 keywords.

Send 'em an email, they certainly look to have good credentials. Ask for some results

    Hi Greedy,

Because it is membership site optimization that you require, I would suggest using a well established marketer with a proven track record & most importantly, who has very successful membership sites!! Two people who immediately come to mind are Dean Holland & his mentor the one & only Alex Jeffreys. I modelled my own membership site after Dean Holland's site (I was a paying member of his site for years). Just make sure you focus on over delivering great value for money re: content offered to members & constantly communicating with the members to promptly resolve any issues that they may have.

    Hope this helps,

    Ryan.
