Hostgator Reseller Question

INTERNET MARKETING

I have a reseller account with Hostgator and I am trying to set up cpanel access for a client to a website I have sold to them. The site is currently hosted with Hostgator and is a WP site.

Does anyone have any experience of how to set up access for the client?

There seems to be very little in in the way of tutuorials on Hostgator on how to do this and Hostgator live chat has not been clear at all.

Any help would be much appreciated

Is the site installed on your reseller account or a regular account?

  To be honest I did not realise there were two seperate accounts! I have just installed all my sites as far as I know into a Reseller account?

No. If you installed all of your sites onto one hosting plan with one cpanel, you have not installed them on reseller hosting. When you install it on reseller hosting, each site automatically gets it's own cpanel with it's own user name and password.

To solve your problem, you will need to transfer that site to your client's host or to a reseller host with it's own cpanel.

Instructions for doing that are here. Or you can use a plugin called Duplicator.

With a Hostgator reseller account, you will create cpanel accounts using WHM (web host master)

This is the same operating system that you would have on a Hostgator dedicated server, except with many of the options unavailable.

If you have WHM, it is easy to set up client accounts.
