I spent $500 for a 30 day ad on DNJournal.com. The ad will prob appear tomorrow sometime. This site is poorly designed and looks like Times Square but I am hoping for a return on my investment. Does anybody at all have experience with advertising on this site? Perhaps the ad positon has been available for a reason? Thanks.

The only ad I saw on there for $500 was for a text ad in the footer. I doubt you will get much traffic from that. The best place for an ad is at the top.

If the site you are advertising is poorly designed I am puzzled why you would want to spend $500 for an ad and before doing some research on the site you have chosen to advertise on.

Never heard of the site until you mentioned it.

Just keep in mind though that with forums there is a BIG difference between unique visitors and total visitors because a lot of visitors will be repeat visitors seeing your ad.

You don't know until you test things. Even two different ads on the same forum will have very different results.

Be sure to let us know how it goes. If you don't let us know we will assume it went well and come and advertise there :-)

DNJournal, as Suzanne said, is well known, especially with domain resellers. Will be interesting to see how well it does for you and I hope you will come back and post how it went. Good luck!

you should know the answer to this question before you bought it!
you should have researched the site - how much traffic do they get? what traffic is it? is it relevant to what i'm promoting? what conversion rate do i need? is it realistic?
you should have also tested out your banner/lander on something like facebook to get an idea of how it converts.
once you know all that then you put your money down
    come on OP!

yes I hope you do not get jipped on this.

Its always better to do small ad spends first before going fishing in the water big fry.

This is a popular site but, so if you ad has good copy you should be ok, but then again, it is determined, by the site traffic, the clickthroughs, you site, your copy and your conversion funnels, all should be in place and you should know ALL your numbers first.

It would have been better if you would have done your due diligence before investing your money. But I have heard of the site and depending on how targeted your ad is to the visitors, you should do okay
