I found this guy recently and I love him. Now that's one guy who knows what he talks. Watch this:

    You landed on a wonderful site! That video sums it up. Without passion for what you're doing, it's just a job. My favorite expression from Confucius is: "Love what you do and you'll never work another day in your life.

    I haven't worked a day in my life since 2005, but I spend a lot of time doing what I love

    Following your passion for online marketing is great and all but just make sure there is a demand for that market.

    Everyone should pursue their passion in life but if your goal is to make money there needs to be buyers too.

      Very true. Not all passions are profitable. You can't make a living at some passions.

      I'm sure there are many people that have followed their passions into bankruptcy, spending countless hours doing things they were passionate about but in which there was no money.

        Come on guys, if you have a passion for something then there are other people who have the same passion also. And with internet it is easier to find them than ever before.. Just be smart and persistent.

    I found it necessary to shape the form of the things I was
    passionate about to intersect with what people wanted to
    buy.

    There are many areas of passion that are not easy to
    monetize in a big way. The path of least resistance is
    to find something people want and help them get it -
    and you may discover new passions in yourself within
    that process.

    It's kind of interesting - you can take a subject you know
    very little about and have no interest in... and force yourself
    to read a book about it... and voila' - don't be surprised if
    you find yourself interested and passionate about the topic.

    I only got passionately interested in copywriting after I
    started learning more about it - the awareness of the
    possibilities awakened and the passion came from the
    natural excitement of that discovery.

    I've been struggling with this for awhile now...

    When I first started marketing online I was flat broke, and quite frankly, I was mostly just passionate about making a bunch of money and getting out of the crappy financial situation I was in. But now that I've done that, I am honestly pretty bored most of the time.

    Now running my online businesses is just an extremely high paying "job". I used to really enjoy coming up with new ideas and launching new sites, but not nearly as much any more.

    (Although I'm involved with launching a new project now that I *AM* extremely excited about!)

    For the past few years I've been trying to figure out how to make money with a business related to my true passion, but I just haven't figured it out yet. It's something that's not exactly easy to monetize...

    In the meantime I make more money than 99% of the population and I've decided that I will just focus on ways to work less and less, and enjoy my real passions when I'm not working.

    Passion is what makes it possible to get through the more difficult aspects of starting and running your own business -- but it doesn't necessarily need to be a specific passion for a specific product that motivates you.

    As others have said, if there's no market for your passion, it doesn't matter how much you believe in it -- people just won't buy it.

    What you can ALWAYS be passionate about, however, is taking advantage of opportunities, pursuing your own freedom, serving your customers well, and reaching your goals. No matter what you sell or do, believing in yourself and your dreams will propel you when nothing else is going right, or when you face a challenge that sets you back on your heels.

    Gary took his family's business and took it to a new level and a new market not just because he was passionate about wine, but because he's passionate about the success of his family, and his own ability to succeed and create and rise. He will start new ventures and products with that same level of passion -- even if the product isn't something that personally floats his boat.

    He is passionate about being passionate -- and that drive is what takes him where he needs to go.

      I completely agree with the quote from Confuscious that says, "Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life." I think this eludes to what some of us regard as "work". I love walking and swimming but highly doubt I could turn it into a career....(hmmmm)

      But as an Event Coordinator, altho its alot of work and brings new meaning to the word, "multi-tasking" - everyday is a joy to come to work, watching something begin, evolve and then ultimately happen. I coordinate a large annual cultural festival showcasing 25 different cultures. The city comes alive, people come from all over Western Canada and even the U.S. as they celebrate what makes us the same as well as different....great ethnic food and high-calibre entertainment for days....I even get to play in the steelband at the Caribbean pavilion (when time allows) for 30,000 people. Work? No way.....

      .....sorry, got carried away there, but I just recently discovered Gary W too and he's got great energy.....love it!
