I run a stock market membership site.

I would really appreciate some constructive feedback on the video below that I created for it.

(Have to use YouTube here which some lost some quality.
The quality is perfect on the actual site)

Thank you, I appreciate your feedback.

I didn't even think of that in regards to the logo. Good point, not very obvious what it is.

Note that the splash image displayed in the YouTube version above (only way to embed a video in a post) isn't the splash image I use for the video on the site.

Here's the image I use on the site:

I'm not convinced. A 20-year average? The guy in the video doesn't look much more than 20. So how was this average derived? I'm hoping it's not some retro study where you plug in the system and find out what it would have done.

You're asking for opinions in a marketing forum. There are few traders here. I spent a lot of time trading during the tech boom and if I came across these claims I would have bugged out after the first minute or so because there's something missing here.

I guess it comes down (it always does) to who you're targeting. If it's people without much background in stocks you might get some takers. I think you'd do well to explain a bit about the actual system itself and how you arrived at your claims. Good luck.

      Travis,

You asked for constructive criticism of your video. That is what I will present. I believe your video was very professional. Obviously you have a narrow target market. As I watched you roll off the statistics and percentages I knew you lost the general public. Most don't even know how to spell S&P 500.

I will agree with the one poster who said 20 years, you don't look like you've been at it 20 years. Perhaps a cite as to where you got this 20 year quote. I can pick them up anywhere as can anyone else so they become unbelievable.

BTW, we have an options trading site. It is in my sig line. If you care to start a dialogue I would be happy to carry on a conversation with you.

Other than that, very good video.

"The guy in the video doesn't look much more than 20."

I presented in the video and I agree, I look too young. I'm actually 39 next month. It was the lighting, easily fixed for future videos so I look my age.

          "A 20-year average?"

This could have been explained more thorougly which I'll quickly do so now. Stock trading systems are initially developed with the use of historical data. I completed the development in 2007. The 20 year average was calculated using the average return per year before and after I completed the system in 2007.

What I could have done is to either:

          1. Only focus on the results after 2007.
          2. Still display the full 20 years of results but explain that the system has continued to perform after I created it in 2007. This is actually huge as most trading systems fall over after they have been developed. This one hasn't.

The issues that have been raised are easily addressed with a more thorough explanation.

I really appreciate the feedback everyone has given me and will take it on board for future videos.

Okay, now maybe I'm on board. Explain exactly what you've posted above in the presentation, especially the line bolded above. That's likely to be your major selling theme. Explain it with an engaging story and build upon it.

I actually think you came across well in the video, however I too feel you began pitching too quickly. It only takes a minute or so to introduce yourself, and briefly explain how you "stumbled" on to your system. Let your viewers know you're real, one of them. Then from there make a big deal about your method standing the test of time, etc. Now you've got something.

If you need help with your copy I might be willing to come out of hibernation as I still dig writing market copy...

Your script on the other hand, is in dire need of the smooth hand of a copywriter, and I knew this at 00:23 when you went into a sales pitch instead of a cultivating, compelling story that viewers could understand, sympathize with and eventually be led into your sales funnel.

Don't sell the system here, sell the story first, then offer the viewer something of even greater value for signing up into your auto-responder.
I agree totally. The video quality and production is very good; however, the connection to a viewer isnt there. You spend a good bit of time on statistics. You dont really discuss what they get until the end with the mention of logging into a website.

Again I agree with needing a story, something that a viewer can connect with. What's the goal they're trying to reach. I watched the whole thing but was bored about 30 seconds into it. Professional but dry.

I have no clue about this niche or your target group, but when you say "I'm tired of everyone else <bashing, bashing, bashing> and I want to <help, help, help> I immediately enter safe mode, that is, with my credit card as further away from me as possible.

Nobody wants to help, everyone wants to make money. It's how business works.

The video is good, I just don't like how your actually saying what your saying... It isn't flowing, its like you pause every 5 words for half a second but it starts to irritate me. I also hope you are not trying to attract newbies who are looking to learn how to invest.

There's definitely room for improvment in my delivery. I've improved a lot but definitely not 100% there yet.

Not for newbies, definitely requires some knowledge of the stock market.

I am a successful full time trader who runs a crappy trading blog. I'm still learning this IM stuff.
video was of great quality, video content was like everybody else's claims.
even if you nail the sales page you will have trouble selling a system ... the people making money with their "systems" are ones who teach ongoing in a membership site, via live chat live video trading (watch as I trade) and telephone consulting.
not many people will just buy a system they want their hand held!!!!
option 2 is.... if your system really works and I'm sure it does..... I suggest making your picks and become a stock picking site. build your list.... sell monthly subscriptions or pay per pick (like the sports picks sites)
most wanna be traders just want to wake up and be told what to do.
trading is the toughest thing I ever had to learn, most people give up or run out of money before they "make it"
make it easy for them sell your picks.. 39% gains they will appreciate you each trade.
