Safe To Reuse Content After Site Is Down?

I have had a couple sites with some content articles I was wondering If I could get another domain started and use the content previously used on my sites that went down..

    First make sure these pages aren't in the google index. If they are you can easily remove them using the webmaster tools.

        Yes, first check if your site is still indexed or not; if yes; go to webmaster tool and make use of webpage removal request tool to remove your site from Google search result.
        If you use the same content even if your previous site is indexed, then your content will be treated as duplicate content and as a result your current site may get banned or may went down in SERP rankings.

    went down as in your sites were deleted? Or?

    If you're like me, I had my blogger hosted own domain deleted, but ported over some of the best posts over to my self hosted wordpress site and it's fine..

    If the page is still indexed in google, google will think you take content from another website and make your website are not good in the search engines google.

    Well these types of post I have read many time and when I study google it says you can not use copy past content. What question comes to my mind at that time is how can we write totally different content on an Iphone technology when its all same?
    So right now I think you also careful because I have already a hit from google.

      Rubbish. Duplicate content refers to the same content twice on one site. Do you think "The Times" website or any other major newspaper site is banned or goes down in the rankings for running syndicated stories that appear on many other websites? Of course not.

      Hurrah. Common sense at last.

      I was in a similar situation to the OP. I removed an old website and transferred the entire content to a new site. It's doing very well, thank you. I still own the original domain name and have forwarded it to the new site to save me hunting down all the links to it.

    Just do the copyscape search whether the content is already there on any site and if the content is not live on any site then feel safe to put it on your site.
