i just sold a site in sitepoint, whats next?

hi, yesterday I just had an auction wherein the BIN was reached. That was the first site I sold on sitepoint, and its also the first time I have done that. So what are the security measure tips that you can give me to maybe avoid something bad? I just received the payment in Paypal and found out the guy wasn't verified yet! I did some research on him though (through google) and he looks pretty legit..

I have heard about some scammers on sitepoint and how they reverse payment after getting the site... How can I avoid it? Any tips to make sure I wouldn't be one of those victims?

You may hold on the money for a few hours before releasing the site. I do it for my startups generally. (I let my buyers know the reason)

You may want to transfer the money to bank or something?

From the next time, you may consider using Escrow.

I'm sure you'll be fine, I have never had anyone do a chargeback on a Sitepoint sale. Transfer the money straight out of your Paypal account anyway, but I'm sure everything will be fine.

the only way to avoid getting your payment reversed is to use escrow.com

reversals are generally lower by only accepting bids from buyers with long histories, but using paypal alone is dangerous with transferring domains cause if they reverse payment you already gave them the domain.

@everyone, thanks.. i actually listed escrow.com and paypal as payment methods but the buyer used the paypal buy it now option... but anyways next time i'll use escrow

I just used escrow.com for the first time and it was very easy. Plus they also have a paypal payment option if that's what your buyer prefers.

once the funds are in your paypal account I think you are quite safe. They wouldn't transfer if they were up to no good as you can quite quickly transfer funds from yuor paypal account back to your bank.

I had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago. The buyer reversed his payment with Paypal because I didn't transfer the domain name quick enough. Paypal "temporarily" took the money from my account.

I sent all the proof I had to Paypal showing them that I had delivered everything I had promised in the sale.

After the ten days, I got an email from Paypal stating, in part:

"According to the User Agreement, PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy applies
only to the shipment of goods and not to services and other intangible
goods. For that reason, we are unable to take any action regarding this
complaint."

Paypal immediately put the money back in my account after sending that email. They never even considered all of the proof I sent them. They just basically will not get involved in a dispute where digital or "intangible" goods are sold.
