Site Flipping Question

A site flipper at Sitepoint offered his website for sale with an e-book to go with it in an auction. The website was not sold at the close of the auction because Reserve Price was not met.

But I noticed that all the questions and responses was "PM me a copy of the e-book." Is this not another smart way of getting ebooks people can rip off for their own selfish end? All those that got the ebook never bought. And the ebook proprietary info is in their brains and hard drives to use unfettered!

I am thinking of doing similar offer-offering a website with an ebook. But I am not going to release my ebook. I have a free report on the same niche that anybody can sample in case you are concerned about my writing style and grammar. Is this a good idea? I want to know what is the standard.

Otherwise, I will start selling the ebook on my website and bullshit those freeloaders. I need your thoughts, Bloodless Warriors.

    Yeah I have noticed this and have sold a couple of ebook sites and had a few people asking for a copy of the ebook.

    Possibly some are interested in seeing what they are bidding on but I'm sure many are just trying to grab a copy for free.

    The free report is a good idea, or even just a sample out of the ebook - one chapter or a couple of pages, just so they can see the writing style but not get their hands on the whole book.

    It happens all the time. I usually just send them two chapters for them to see the quality of my ebooks.

    I agree. I would never send a copy of the book I'm trying to sell. What's to stop the person from stealing the whole website and building his own and selling the book?

    Two chapters, no more. That's my limit.
